That really is something. He also looks "age appropriate" for the prequel. One of the podcast guys (Vince?) mentioned that Odenkirk is, in real life, super fit. As in, bikes to the set every day and everything. Maybe that helps? I'm sure it does. He must have a good skincare regimen too, because he doesn't seem to have a lot of wrinkles. Also, he wears a wig on the show like he did on BB. In real life his hair is somewhat grey.

I know this is evil of me, especially considering Kim's likeable nature, but does anyone remember that horrible line from BB when Saul tells Walt, (who is pissed about Skyler's cheating) "I caught my second wife screwing my stepdad!" Jimmy has mentioned an ex-wife who cheated on him, though not with a man he mentioned as a stepfather. I really hope the second ex doesn't turn out to be Kim.

Last night's episode was so good. That last scene, that sound effect made me cringe so hard. I can't believe there is only one episode left this season.
I'm thinking Mike somehow gets his hands on Hector's meds which leads to his stroke. As for Chuck, I'm wondering if this whole situation is what leads to Jimmy's name change. Whether its out of guilt or anger, he just doesn't want to be a McGill anymore.

Yes, last night's episode was one of the best. Since Chuck has unleashed the full scope of his asshole side, I am less sorry to see him go, (?) and the real heartbreak of the ep was Kim going all in with Jimmy, despite admitting she knows about his "other" side. I'm thinking Mike somehow gets his hands on Hector's meds which leads to his stroke. What I've been wondering, re: Mike and Hector, is if this is the run-up to how Mike gets hooked up with Gus Fring. Fring haaaated Hector because of what Hector did to Fring's partner, Max. Does Mike incapacitating Hector lead to the Gus-Mike connection?

I've been wondering that too, if Mike's beef with Hector is what got him involved with Gus. Gus certainly had the means to back him up if he got into a serious jam with him.
I'm surprised Kim is still with Jimmy. I thought the whole document tampering thing would be what finally split them up, if they did actually split up.
That last scene was just so tense. There are just so many layers of complexity there, neither Chuck nor Jimmy comes out of it looking good. If Chuck had just supported Jimmy and not tried to keep him from being a lawyer the whole situation could've been avoided. I love that Kim finally called him out on it.
And Jimmy, damn. Aside from the obvious head injury he was basically ruining Chuck's career and gaslighting him to cover his own ass. He definitely made a big leap toward becoming Saul with this whole thing. And not helping Chuck at the end because it would blow his cover, just, wow. He obviously felt horrible about it but still.

If this show is trying to make me feel sorry for Chuck in any way- so far it's not working. Yeah, Jimmy did him dirty. But Chuck's been playing dirty for YEARS, ruining not only Jimmy's career but also derailing Kim's and letting Howard take the fall (though Howard seems plenty douchelike on his own).
I don't think Kim will stay with Jimmy for long. She has affection for him, and gets him on a certain level. But basically they have a Puff the Magic Dragon relationship and she's Little Jackie Paper who loves that rascal Puff, but eventually outgrows him and won't be able to hang with him anymore. I think they both know it too. But she's hanging in there for the moment because she just made a major life change and is still freaked out about that- and he's familiar and therefore comforting.
In the meantime, I love how even though they haven't crossed paths for a while, Mike's story-line keeps running parallel to Jimmy's. Last week we watched them both taking very meticulous measures to extract their revenge (And Mike even multi-tasked by letting Kaylee 'help' build his nail hose- and teaching her fractions along the way). Then this week they executed their plan and successfully derailed their enemies. But in doing so, they put the burden of knowing what they did on someone else (Kim now has an ethical dilemma with her clients because of Jimmy's actions, and Nacho will probably come to a bad end if anyone can connect the dots between him and Mike) And they both wound up feeling bad because their actions caused some unexpected harm. (Mike's got that Good Samaritan's blood on his conscience, and Jimmy made Chuck spiral enough to wind up injured- maybe even dead) I can't wait to see how they will tie together eventually. And where exactly Gus fits into all of this.
Mike is still mah Fake TV Hubby all the way. I love that the first thing he did after ripping off Hector was to buy a bar full of strangers a round of drinks. That's awesome!
And even though Jimmy plays dirty and breaks all the rules- I so admire his commitment to doing just that. I mean, he went to some seriously painstaking trouble to sabotage Chuck. And the lengths he goes to to put his ragtag commercial together. (Singing the Pina Colada to sell his fib, just to get a hero shot with a flag behind him) I love him! Not enough to make him mah fake tv husband. But enough that I can't wait to see what he'll do next.
Whatever becomes of Chuck, I hope Jimmy doesn't spend too much time feeling guilty over it.

There is a theory going around on Twitter that if you take the first letter of all the 2nd season episodes' titles and rearrange them, it spells out Frings Back. Not sure if it's a joke by the writers, or viewers reaching but I can see them bringing Fring back sooner rather than later.
I would have mixed feelings about that. I loved Giancarlo Esposito on BB and I would like to see him again. But at the same time I've been preferring the storylines that are completely separate from BB (Kim, Chuck, Howard, etc). I hope they take their time if they introduce him and that the drug lord stuff doesn't take over the show.

Oh man! Chuck is positively diabolical!! I mostly hate him, and yet I partly admire him for being just that committed to douchebaggary. I mean, it really is gold standard douchebaggary!
It's really interesting that Jimmy is just as driven and committed to his shenanigans. But his motives are always to help someone out. He bends the rules of legal solicitation- but only to make sure his elderly clients get the papers he knows the evil nursing home is keeping from them. He commits fraud which screws over Chuck, but his ultimate motive is to help Kim. Chuck goes to the same extremes, but his goal is always to screw someone over. He's really remarkable- like his life goal is to maintain pettiness at all costs. It's amazing that Jimmy's willingness to stick by his side in spite of it all hasn't once ever touched his heart or softened his all consuming need to destroy his brother.
As for mah fake TV hubby, dearest Mike is the king of sitting and waiting. This time, I don't even think he had a chance for a pimento sandwich, poor guy.
This show is amazing, because I KNOW the outcome for certain characters, but I will still be on the edge of my seat, squirming with anticipation... even knowing what seems to be happening- won't. I mean I hollered so loud for Nacho to get out of the way to give Mike a clear shot, I'm sure that yes, the fictional character heard me loud and clear through the screen. But Hector wasn't going to get shot. I mean, I considered that a bullet grazing a vital organ might cause a stroke, yes. But this was mah fake TV husband pulling the trigger! He wouldn't have missed!! So I knew Hector was safe and STILL held my breath through the whole scene.
And who put the note on Mike's car? Gotta be GUS, right!! GUS! GUS! GUS!! YAY! YAY! YAAAAAAAAY!!!! (Unless, of course, Nacho is also secretly the Flash. Which remains to be seen)
Was this really the season finale? Sooo bummed!!! This show is mah Blue Meth, y'all!... If that particular drug had been invented yet in this time line...

Ugh. I shouldn't be reading this thread. I did some googling and figured out that Season 2 probably won't hit Netflix until right before Season 3 airs on cable. I really want to watch it now. I know that Jonathan Banks has been in a million things, but I didn't realize he was in Designing Women. I vaguely remember this. When he first appeared on Breaking Bad I instantly recognized him from Beverly Hills Cop.

I figured out what Chuck was up to pretty early on in the last scene, and I kept thinking "Don't confess Jimmy! He's setting you up!" I lost what little good will I had left for Chuck there. He used Jimmy's love for him and his genuine concern for his well-being against him. What a jack-ass.
