would he have hidden the disease from his wife if it was lung cancer. Isn't that what Walter White initially did? Yes, in the beginning, Walt withheld info about his diagnosis for three (?) episodes, I think, then caved and told her he would "do" the chemotherapy after the family meeting with the 'talking pillow.' ETA: To answer a BCS/BB timeline question from upthread, in this Insider Podcast for BCS season 3, episode 4, Vince Gilligan specifically states that the flashbacks we just saw with Don Eladio jumping into the pool happen circa 1999. The earlier flashback on BB, which shows Hector killing Gus's partner, Max, were supposed to have happened in the late 1980s/early '90s. And the scenes where Gus poisons Don Eladio and crew on BB? 2007. Which is interesting. I have long suspected that BB was supposed to be taking place in a very compressed--almost unbelievably so--block of time. (More like 1 1/2 years rather than my 2-2 1/2 guess from upthread.) If anyone wants to listen to the timeline part of that podcast it's at 34:55. (Those podcasts are long.)

This season has been pretty draggy and not nearly as engaging as the first two. But last night, after Nacho's scene with Hector- I felt like *I* needed one of Hector's heart attack prevention pills! (A real one- not one of the fake ones Nacho slipped him) That was some tense television! Good gravy, I know the most likely scenario is for Nacho to come to a very bad end. But I really wish the writers pull a new twist and he winds up chillin' in the Bahamas with loads of Hector's cash by his side. It's sad enough to watch Krazy 8 being the sweetest, most polite drug dealer ever and knowing full well that death by bike lock is in his future. I really want Nacho to be the exception to the rule.

Well, when we first meet Saul, and Jesse and Walt are fake-trying to kill him, his first words are, "It wasn't me, it was Ignacio!" (Nacho is short for Ignacio.) No reason he can't wind up alive.

I almost wished they ignored Breaking Bad altogether. It sucks to know what happens to Gus, Mike and Krazy 8.
I have to say I thought Michael Mando was a bad actor when he was on Orphan Black. But he is killing it here. The scene where he was switching the pills was fantastic.
It's interesting, I always assumed there was one big event that turned Jimmy into Saul. But maybe not, maybe he slowly just turns into Saul as his life gets tougher. Sure Chuck screwed him over but he is making the worst possible choices at every turn. I actually think the turning point is when he he was lying on his back and taking the money from that drug dealer. You can almost see the light bulb over his head as he realized how easy it could be to make money defending dirtbags.

It's interesting, I always assumed there was one big event that turned Jimmy into Saul. Same. And I think they'll be at least one more big explosion in his evolution into complete Strip Mall Lawyer. I still don't have a good feeling about Kim.

This is what I'm hoping- that Saul was speaking of Nacho in the present tense (present at the time of Breaking Bad). Since he never shows up in the BB universe he's at least no longer associated with Tuco or the rest of the Salamancas, so probably he's out of the ABQ area. Hopefully alive and well and out of ABQ. I really love Nacho as a character and don't want bad things to happen to him. But then again, I really, really loved Mike and Gus... freakin' Walter White!

It is so much easier to hate Mr. Heisenberg after watching an episode of BCS. Which I now think of as the superior show.
Know whose appearance I really want to see, though it would be heartbreaking in its own way? Wendy the Meth Head. I have been dying to know what turned her from mother to the kid she mentioned (Patrick) to Methaholic. I mean, the drugs, obviously, but there could have been other factors (bad husband, boyfriend, best friend, etc.)

Breaking Bad does seem even more tragic now, after seeing so many people that Walt either killed or caused the deaths of being even more fully fleshed-out characters. I even feel bad for Krazy-8 and he's only had a minute or two of screen time. And even though Jimmy was already fully Saul by the time he met Walt he might not have wound up being utterly ruined if he hadn't gotten mixed-up with him. No one who had the misfortune of knowing Walt escaped unscathed.

Last night, wow. On the one hand, it's my new Worst. Episode. Ever. From Howard dumping Chuck to Kim's er, lapse in judgment, it was pretty gross. Although I guess the situation with Kim had been building for a while. The worst part for me was watching Jimmy single out that poor Sandpiper Crossing lady for social isolation and rejection by her peers. But no one ever said watching him morph into Saul was going to be fun.

But no one ever said watching him morph into Saul was going to be fun. Indeed. After this episode, it seems like there's not much further to go in the transition from Jimmy to Saul. He's pretty much there. I felt so bad for that poor old lady, and I wanted to throttle Jimmy/Saul for doing that to her. I'm hoping all or at least most of the disparate plot threads will get tied together next week somehow.
