Not surprised. ETA: I just read minky's post about Jemima Kirke splitting with her husband. I was just reading last night an interview where Jemima admitted she met her husband in rehab. Interesting, especially considering that her Girls character also has substance abuse issues. |

Jemima almost quit the show when she read that storyline about her character impulsively marrying the investment banker (Chris O'Dowd) and then divorcing him after about 2 months. She was upset because Lena often bases the storylines on Jemima's real life and that one was obviously about her then-recent marriage.
If you've seen Tiny Furniture, Jemima's character also seems to be based on her - from poking fun at her semi-fake English accent to her first trip to rehab:

I think it speaks to her lack of creativity. "I can't think of anything substantial for this character to say or do so let me just crib the unpleasant stuff from my friend's life. She'll do a great job reliving her rock bottom!"

There's been some discussion already of this in Paula's thread and it was Julian's school that first reported the abuse, not Paula. It seems to be a substantive claim.
I'm not quite sure why all of the revelations in the Huffington Post article are being brought out in relation to this, but they all sound true to me - Robin abusing substances, having unprotected sex with multiple women, etc. We knew that stuff already. If he did indeed break down a door, Paula probably has evidence of that (door repair bill, etc) and I don't think the default assumption should be "she's lying". Based on what I know of Robin, all of what she's claiming sounds very believable and not that surprising.
Meanwhile, Robin's firing back with defenses like claiming that Paula is a famewhore who is just trying to get back at him for not being allowed to go to his father's funeral. Right.

Exactly. At the very least, rumors about him creeping with other women and abusing substances have been swirling for quite a while after "Blurred Lines" made it big. Who can forget this picture? That's why I think the rest of this story is plausible. I'm still taken aback at Paula being banned from Alan Thicke's funeral. |
