Is anyone else creeped out by the therapist? Maybe it's the lighting they use on her or the way she never quite seems to face her patients (her face is always 1/4 turned away) or her ever so carefully modulated voice. She gives me the heebie-jeebies.

She gives me the heebie-jeebies. I was troubled that she is treating such close friends. She seems to know a lot about Madeline, but I guess we're to assume that Ed has private sessions as well, or they've had multiple sessions off screen. But her blurting out the college issue seemed to blind-side Madeline. Or maybe she just never made the connection. Who knows. She was good last season getting Celeste to slowly realize how dangerous Perry was, but this season everything is just off.

I could understand the therapist trying to move Celeste away from stuff like date night with her dead husband's videos, but then she was weirdly pushy with stuff like encouraging Celeste to date again. Like, Perry has been dead less than a year. And it isn't like they just got divorced and he moved away. He died. In front of her. That's going to take some time.
She was weirdly aggressive in some bits with Maddie and Ed too. I do think she had already had individual sessions with them both, but the way she called Ed out on being too checked out felt aggressive. Like, yeah, maybe he is too easy-going and should have spoken up about some things instead of just going along to get along, but he just found out his wife was cheating on him. I think it's kinda okay that at this point he's still a little closed off in couple's therapy. He's still very hurt and angry.
Like, give these people some time, lady. Her urgency last season made sense because Celeste was in real, physical danger. That's not the case with any of these people now.

I’m not enjoying Meryl in this. Her acting ticks are very annoying. Here’s hoping she isn’t awarded an Emmy for this.

Oh my goodness, she is definitely getting an Emmy for this, whether it's deserved or not. I think the television industry is itching to reward this acting goddess for deigning to do a TV show, and a soapy one at that. If we're lucky, we'll see Reese try to grab it out of her hands again on stage. The aggressiveness of the therapist seemed to have come out of nowhere. She was great last season. Maybe she's just sick of these privileged women screwing up their own lives. She's had it up to here with them!

The slap was a long time coming and satisfyingly. But Celeste feels pretty screwed right now.
I love Renata. I love that she was the one who broke up the Ed/Nathan fight because dammit, those idiots are NOT ruining her last rich person party. I want a prequel that’s all Renata’s backstory. Also, she needs to leave her husband.
Also, how insane/gross was that party? She’s seven. Ed was right about everything being so artificial.
Jane, stay away from Meryl. Also, how much you wanna bet Meryl killed Perry’s brother or Perry did it because he was violent from the start and Meryl covered it up?
Bonnie’s story continues to drag.

That party was ridiculous. It's one of the things about this series that pisses me off, SOOOOO much money thrown around.
I don't think there's any way out of this for them. They're gonna have to kill her.

I'm posting this link because I want someone else to see it before they correct all of the frillion errors. There are spoilers for tonight's episode. It is some really, really shoddy writing. For example, the end of the article notes that Big Little Lies continues it's seventh season....and Madeline is referred to as Martha for the entire first half.

As much as I hate it, and loathe their racism, The Fail never disappoints in its horrifically shoddy "journalism". Spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, misinformation, the works! I'm not a grammar fanatic, or an English major, but even I cringe at their blatant ineptitude. I wrote for the school paper in high school and college, and I can't believe those caliber of mistakes get published on an international "news" website. As for the show? Bonnie and her mom? Don't care. If they go ahead and pull the magic black woman/psychic with the shining, I will puke blood. Renata rules as always. Madeline is whiny. Chloe is obnoxious. Nathan is irrelevant, and his absence would not have been missed. Ed needs to divorce and move on. New Age boyfriend is still too weird and creepy for me. Jane is boring. Celeste is being an idiot. Mary Louise is obnoxious and annoying. The season is half over, and it sucks. The last few episodes would have to be brilliant to save this season.

Celeste seems to have lost at least half her IQ points and 3/4 of her style sense and it seems more like plot contrivance than grief. All the kids seem to have spent the time between seasons becoming incredibly obnoxious. Even the clothes are a bit of a let down this season.
