Glass half empty, glass half full, I guess. He's only going to be in prison for one additional year and it could have been 20, so CNN's headline is the misleading one. Unlike R., Harvey Weinstein just got another 16-year-sentence that he was ordered to serve consecutively. He must legit have a difficult time keeping track of all of his prison time. LOL.

Ginger, thank you for reminding me that two sexual predators will be in prison for the rest of their lives. Praise the Universe! Also, no more "Dilbert"!

Former Menudo band member alleges he was raped by Menendez brothers’ slain father I guess I didn't realize that Jose Menendez had access to vulnerable boys (or kids that didn't have a lot of supervision)--I didn't know he was the head of RCA Records. I suspect there will be other allegations. "In a Tuesday report about the upcoming Peacock docuseries Menendez + Menudo: Boys Betrayed, NBC’s Today”= show noted that during the trial — which captured the nation’s attention in the mid-1990s — a judge deemed all testimony of sexual abuse irrelevant and inadmissible." I remember this trial and I remember they alleged that the father was abusive, but not that he had sexually abused them.

I remember this trial and I remember they alleged that the father was abusive, but not that he had sexually abused them. They did testify that their parents sexually abused them. And I have always believed it was true. If this accusation opens up a floodgate of accusations, I wonder if that will impact the brothers at all? Would that qualify as "new evidence" for a retrial or possibly make them eligible for parole?

I doubt these revelations will impact them though. They are in for life.

I just have vague recollections of the trial. I do believe them. It sounds like a horrible childhood and existence.

This is really strange. Apparently a minor who is 12 or older can file for a restraining order without the assistance of a parent or guardian in California. So it's possible it's Ella's choice. Also, all that's reported is that there was an incident at his house in LA, which sounds very weasel-wordy. link
