Ah Roman Polanski. We should just name this thread after him. I don't know about you guys but this 2017 Hollywood meltdown is going to mean a lot of extra income for me. Because I AM done supporting these monsters and the defenders and apologists of these monsters. A little refresher on Polanski's apologists. Clearly, very clearly — and he’s proven this — Roman Polanski is not a predator,” Johnny Depp said in 2010. Five years prior, Mia Farrow, ostensibly all-too-familiar with accused child predators, testified on Polanski’s behalf in a libel suit. According to biographer Robert Weide, Farrow submitted a statement after Polanski’s arrest for raping Geimer describing him as “a loyal friend, important to me, a distinguished director, important to the motion picture industry, and a brave and brilliant man, important to all people.”
You’d think Roman Polanski split the atom.
Only in Hollywood could the brutal rape of a child be fantasized away. Cate Blanchett named one of her sons after him. Hollywood awarded him the Best Director Oscar in 2003, replete with standing ovations from many, including Martin Scorsese and Meryl Streep. No matter that for legal reasons — that outstanding rape sentencing — he couldn’t attend. In 2008, HBO ran a gauzy documentary on him.
When Polanski was arrested in Zurich in 2009 in a failed attempt by the US to extradite him, more than 100 celebrities signed a petition demanding his release. These included Harrison Ford, David Lynch, Tilda Swinton, Darren Aranofsky, Penelope Cruz, Wes Anderson, and — no surprise — Woody Allen. Harvey Weinstein, another signer, now also faces public allegations of decades-long sexual harassment; it remains to be seen what fallout, if any, he will suffer.
Two things- 1. Harrison? Nooooo. Why?! 2. Johnny? Continue to go fuck your self. Predators clearly, very clearly stick together. And how exactly did Roman prove that he is not a predator?

I wonder who was having sex with 13-year-old Charlie Sheen? Pedophilia seems to be one of those crimes where the perpetrator usually started out as a victim.

He would've been around 13 while Apocalypse Now was filming, and he was with Martin during that time. Lord knows that set was a shit show so I wonder if something happened there.

After I saw the standing ovation for this man at the Oscars, I was done. And I’m a person who grew up in LA, watched every Oscar show, from the red carpet on. Watched every ET and Access Hollywood. Every night. Te be fair I was young and obviously didn’t know any better. I looked up to these people for some reason, but then I realized that most of these people are absolute snakes, who only care about themselves. Which is a shame because movies are an amazing way to tell a story. I unfortunately can not separate the artist and the work. Especially with Polanski, whose pathetic self should have been in prison and then expelled out of the industry, instead of making The Pianist (Fuck Adrian Brody by the way). The only reason anyone is condemning Weinstein is because the popularity of Miramax is dwindling, and they feel it is safe to say something now, I’m talking about Streep, Damon, Clooney, etc. Not the victims. But everyone knows damn well had Miramax still been as popular as it has been since the late 90s/ early 00s, these fools still wouldn’t be saying shit.

He not only made the film with Polanski, but quite publicly shoved himself on Halle Berry in front of the whole world. Not cute then, not cute now.

FUCK that asshole Gay Talese. The pending fallout cannot be enough for what he said about Spacey's victims.
