I saw this yesterday and it was fantastic. Callbacks to the other Marvel movies but is a standalone. For me probably the best storyline of all the Marvel movies and the strongest cast. I hope we see more Wakanda. The Dora Milaje were kickass and T'Challa's sister Shuri was brillant and hilarious. There was so much to unpack I have to see this movie again. Mostly because the theatre was packed so I ended up not hearing all the dialogue.
Also, there are 2 end credit scenes. One mid-credit and the last at the very end.

I love Okoye so much that I'd be willing to see Michonne get killed off on The Walking Dead if it means we get to see even more of Danai Gurira in the MCU. She was awesome.

We saw it tonight and loved it. The cast was excellent, and I loved that there were strong female characters front and center.

I thought it was excellent and so amazingly nuanced for a Marvel movie. The dynamic of the villain being correct, persuasive to the hero, and ultimately leading to the hero adopting a more nuanced way of achieving the villain’s goal was by far the most compelling hero-villain dynamic any Marvel movie has managed. The only thing wrong with it was that T’Challa and Killmonger didn’t make out but you can’t have everything.
I agree that Shuri was GREAT—I loved having a young girl being the Q-type character. Also I thought this was the second funniest Marvel movie (after Thor 3).

I left the theater thinking I need a spinoff movie for like... at least five or six of the supporting characters. Especially Okoye! She damn near stole the show, and that's no small feat. I also really loved the relationship between T'Challa and Shuri. The villain was very, very well done. MBJ was charismatic and honestly, if they could find a way to bring him back in future movies, I would be OK with that. I thought the scene << between Erik and his father on the spirit plane >> was one of the most affecting in the movie. Afterwards, I was talking with some friends about how it felt like there was less action/fight scenes in this movie compared to other Marvel movies. And that's not a bad thing, because the power of this movie was in its story, not in the spectacle. I mean I for one will freely admit that I love a good spectacle, but I think between this and the Steve/Tony/Bucky fight in Civil War, it's cool to see Marvel figuring out how to raise the stakes in a way that relates to what the characters have invested in the fight, and not simply by going for bigger and crazier explosions. (Of course Infinity War is probably going to make me take that back at some point, but still.)

Every show in Atlanta sold out all over the city so I don't know anybody yet who saw it.

Ugh. I planned poorly, and didn't buy my tickets online weeks ago. I actually hate going to the theater. I hate talkers, phone users, armrest hogs, smelly outside food, and most people in general. So I was hoping to catch a matinee opening weekend, and let the rest of the folks have their celebrations later in the day. No dice!! Every single theater around me is sold out, except a few wheelchair seats, and front row seats. It'll probably be the middle of the week before I see it, and spoilers are everywhere. Everyone on FB, IG , and Twitter is talking about BP. ACK!! No major spoilers, but some lines of dialogue people are loving, and the general consensus that Michael B. Jordan is amazing and compelling as the villain. Can't wait to see this.

I really had no plans to see this, but the hype machine pulled me in. We ended up snagging tickets yesterday for a noon show that the theater added for today and we took our eight-year-old.
We LOVED it! So good! To Mutagen's point, the story didn't need fighting every two minutes. It was really enjoyable, the entire cast was great, and Lupita was stunning. We're entertaining seeing it again.

The two hours flew by and I also plan to watch again bc I missed he dialogue here and there. The scenes and costumes and PEOPLE are gorgeous! Too much hotness on one screen at some points.

Saw it yesterday and it's one of those movies where I really want to live in that world. SOOOOOO much eye candy!! But a great story/plot and great characters as well. I don't usually go in big for super hero movies. But lately I've really enjoyed the Guardians of the Galaxy films and Wonder Woman. So I thought I'd give this a shot just because the previews looked so awesome and action-y. Which it was. But since I went in not really knowing much about Black Panther as a character, I've now walked away from the film with the impression that he's like Wonder Woman in that he's born into his super identity, but also like James Bond in that he's got access to all the gadgets, but also like Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark in that he's got the wealth and influence to make things happen in the world even if he leaves his super suit and gadgets at home. Plus I love his team of friends, family, former love interest, etc. and all their various skills. If he ever found himself kidnapped by some villain- he wouldn't have to wait long for rescue that's for sure.
I won't spoil it too much but I will just mention there's a scene with Michonne Okoye on a car, in a red dress that I could watch over and over again and never tire of. The male eye candy is astounding and in abundance, but good gravy that woman is BEAUTIFUL and especially breath-taking in that badass moment.
