I like that they have pictures of the cast sprinkled throughout the set—especially of the actors who have died. Saw Shelly Winters on the mantle last week and Glenn Quinn tonight behind the sofa.

I had no idea that their house had another bathroom upstairs. I just assumed the only one was off Darlene and Becky's bedroom. That is pretty nice for such a small house. The big bathroom is downstairs with two entrances, one from Dan and Roseanne's bedroom, one from the hall. There is also a small bathroom that is only accessible from inside Becky and Darlene's room upstairs. Somebody once did a floorplan of all of those sitcom houses and they are crazy as hell. None of them remotely match the exterior of the house.

Oooh, I want to see that! I get very excited about floor plans.
I remember noticing DJ also had his own bathroom in the first run and even though I was probably 12 at the time, I was already like, "There is no way in HELL a Craftsman style bungalow would have THREE bathrooms!" They should have made one upstairs bathroom that's a Jack and Jill -- that would have been perfectly believable.

Sidebar: I thought I hit a jackpot on our former house, listed with two bathrooms in a 1928 bungalow. Game show buzzer + sad trumpet. The second bathroom was an unenclosed, disconnected terlet in the basement. We never got around to fixing it...

I watched last week and didn't utter a single chuckle. This week I laughed out loud several times. No mention of Trump this week and I enjoyed watching Darlene finally come down on her bratty daughter.

Interesting article from Vulture about the politics of the show. I didn't watch this episode but really can't believe they included this joke: It's not funny and seems weird to go after shows on their network.

I liked that this week's episode was just a plain old good sitcom episode. After all was said and done, the first episode was seen by 25 million+ viewers. I think the show is going to hang on to most of the audience just because it's good and there aren't too many sitcoms around these days that are. Here's a plan of the first floor. You would have to lop off the Master bed and bath in order to make it match the exterior. I don't think it's even possible to do a plan of the second floor or the basement because neither of them made any sense. Two ensuite bathrooms upstairs in that tiny house? Ridiculous. Here's a floor plan somebody came up with for the Full House house. Apparently there is no room for any bathroom in that house. I don't think the original show was explicitly anti-spanking. It was anti-physical abuse. When Roseanne spanked DJ, she was out-of-control angry and it scared everyone in the room and everyone knew it had crossed a line. And it was compared back to her father ritually humiliating and beating his children with a belt that he kept up on the wall for guests to see. And I wouldn't call what happened between Roseanne and Harris on last night's episode a spanking either, although it was a gesture of physical domination.

Can we talk about normalization? I watched the first week of episodes and while I was sitting there I thought to myself "Hmm, I guess this is what normalization feels like." Over the last two weeks, a series of national polls have come out giving tr*mp his highest approval ratings since being elected. Rasmussen (which skews right) has him at 51%. Given that he's in the midst of multiple scandals and he hasn't had any significant accomplishments in the last few weeks, pundits are sort of at a loss as to why the needle has moved so dramatically.
I know it might sound stupid or crazy or both, but does anyone else think this revival is having a real world impact on how people relate to cheetoh's presidency? Yeah, I know, it's just a sitcom, but it's one of the most popular shows in the country. People talk about how and why representation is important for gays, minorities, women, etc, so why wouldn't that apply to political ideologies?

Old Roseanne vs New Roseanne on spanking. WTF?! That scene between Roseanne and Harris was disturbing. That wasn't even spanking. Spanking is a deliberate and measured action (I'm still against it, FTR). Grabbing a kid by the neck and holding their head under running water is abusive.
