I am, but I'm losing interest. June has got some serious plot armour and it's starting to bug me. Like, Janine gets the hell beaten out of her for suggesting that she wanted to be handmaid to her daughter's "parents" again, and Eden is executed for adultery, but June can smuggle a baby out of Gilead and nothing happens to her? And I don't quite get where this season is going, June stayed because she wanted to fight from the inside but she doesn't appear to be doing anything, unless Commander Lawrence is the catalyst for it. And speaking of him, I get that the showrunners are trying to make him vague, but, he's done some things that are wildly inconsistent considering he was the one that got Emily out.
In the book, Gilead only lasted for seven years, and I think they've said in the show that it's been around for five years at this point, so the clock is ticking. I wish we just got some payoff every now and then. It's just been nothing but close-ups of June's face all season. We get it, she's pissed. I do like her and Nick though. In a perfect world I'd have them end up together and Luke and Moira end up together. I've got a bad feeling about Luke though, I think he's going to be targeted for assassination by the Gileadeans (Gileadi?) because he's got Nicole, and because Fred is obsessed with June.
I want Aunt Lydia's backstory. She's batshit at this point and I would love to see how she initially became a true believer.

June has got some serious plot armour and it's starting to bug me. I still don’t understand how June did not get in trouble for getting Nichole out, especially now that they know Luke has the baby. Sure they can claim she was kidnapped, but her husband has the baby, they have proof! So how is she not in trouble for orchestrating this shit. I’m surprised that June told Luke about Nick being the father and in the manner that she did - by admitting that Nichole came to be because she loved Nick. I still think she was an asshole to Nick in a previous episode by telling him “what can you do for me?” And Serena, I want to like you and cheer for you, but you make it so hard! ETA: Is Serena’s hair looking more brown done on purpose? Sometimes it looks brown, but when she had her hair down in Canada, it was back to blonde.

I've been binge watching this. I like the story a lot and am ignoring the giant plot hole that June would so have been executed by now.
Elizabeth Moss has one expression, which is halfway between a smirk and fighting constipation. Luckily we get plenty of close ups each episode so I can try to figure that out.
Everyone else is really good. This show has allowed me to finally forgive Joseph Fiennes for ruining Flashforward. The actresses playing Serena and Rita are amazing. They should give Moss some tips on playing subtlety.
I fear this is going to go the way of OITNB, where they hold on to the lead actress way longer than her storyline allows, which forces them further and further into ridiculous land.

I'm waiting for Season 3 on DVD, but I've been watching along on youtube with the previews and recaps...and I don't feel like I'm missing much of anything. Show still seems to be spinning it's wheels.

I tried to watch this, but it became a chore. I'm all for dark themes, but this was just misery porn. Add to the fact that E. Moss is not convincing in the role (I don't think she has the gravitas to pull it off) and a clam. I tried following the wiki, but the stupidity and leaps in logic were too much. And now I'm reading about the creators having a 10 season arc? Really? How? Why? With the same people? Not to mention the backlash against POC being killed and mistreated at an alarming rate. I'm glad I checked out when I did.

Ds1 hasn't watched the latest season--she had a better gig this year, so she left the Handmaiding promotions to her friends. All of them said the bloom is off the rose and they probably need to wrap it up next season, or just stop now.

I got caught up yesterday. Ooof, the last episode was a slog. So, yeah, June starts to go insane (or does) and then, suddenly, at the end, has an epiphany and is more resolved than ever. Okayyyyyy.

And now I'm reading about the creators having a 10 season arc? Yeah, the show runner said he'd like to go for 10 seasons. I did not get the impression that he had any sort of arc planned out though. Literally no one wants 10 seasons of this. He must be getting that feedback.

No way can this show make it ten seasons. June/ofwhoever either needs to escape (who would risk helping her at this point) or executed.

I recently re-watched season 1 and it is SO good. I'm glad I decided not to follow the show anymore after the first season because for me it was done. I had read and loved the book as a uni student and I thought the series captured the mood and themes perfectly. The changes made sense. But it definitely should have been a mini-series.
