Who watched the most recent episode?
I didn't expect Detective Stabler to go down like that. Nor did I expect for Fred to be set up and it looks like it's Serena who did it.

I watched. I was kind of enjoying Stabler's character and hoping he was going to tone June down (she's really been over the top lately)
And I cant wait to see what happens to the Commander. Serena is one of my favorites because she is clearly so conflicted.

I watched the last episode. At this point I'm half hate-watching it because the writing has jumped the shark, but at the same time half-able to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the gorgeous cinematography and some pretty great acting doing the most it can for the material.
The Waterfords haven't felt like interesting characters for a while now. The writers need to conclude their story arc somehow this season, or at list kill off Fred.
It feels like there is such a rich source of stories in all the Marthas. They're the overlooked women wearing muted colors (is it a green or a grey?), who have been running the resistance for a while, taking all the risks and doing all the hard work. They don't seem to be seen as interesting in any way by any of the other characters, which is what makes it possible for them to accumulate power behind the scenes. The writers are obviously aware of this and yet are falling into the same trap: the Marthas are the servants of their storylines, the plot points in journeys of other classes of characters, not interesting enough to be shown as fully-fledged human beings with stories of their own.

Hulu posted the first 3 episodes of Season 4. Have we heard how many seasons we're getting of this show? I know there's been discussion of a 10 season arc, but if that's the case, I might just do with Handmaid's Tale what I've done with The Walking Dead - tune in for the last season.
June's decision making befuddles and frustrates me. I understand her wanting to destroy Gilead but she's risking sooooo many other lives in order to do it. I'm also tired of June never having to pay the price for her decisions. Sure, she gets caught, but somehow ends up escaping all the time while other people pay.
As of now, I'm oddly just watching this to see how Nick's storyline ends. He started as a driver and now he's a Commander. Does he end up going all the way to the dark side? Or is the Nick who loves June still somewhere in there? I'm all in for Nick loving June so if he ends up backstabbing her, I'm going to be devastated. To be clear, I support Nick loving June, but I do not support their relationship. They would be dysfunctional and it's clear that what brought them together was the world they lived in.
ETA: I almost forgot! Whoever chooses the music for the last scene of every episode is seriously the best. They always do such a good job of it. I can't remember a song that didn't fit the scene.
Also, McKenna Grace in the first episode? She played the crazy card well, yet, I still pitied her.

Hulu posted the first 3 episodes of Season 4. Have we heard how many seasons we're getting of this show? There's an article in THR about that very thing and the showrunner says he doesn't have a "specific number in mind:" linkI've soured on the show a bit more with each season, but I will still watch because I'm interested to see how they're getting out of some of the mess they've created.

I can’t bring myself to watch any longer so haven’t seen the new episodes. Season 2, eh. Season 3, thought, “draw it out, shall we? how awful everything is?” And reviews I have read indicate the 3 episodes dropped on Hulu are in the same vein. Likely will just read a recap following S4.

You know, watching this series during the Trump administration was...difficult. But watching it post-January 6 has been excruciating. Not to be hyperbolic, but we were essentially one wrong turn and/or one brave Capitol Police officer away from this.

That is why Season 2 and 3 didn’t work. They tried to write Margaret Atwood and they couldn’t. In an era where there was a president who did not resemble the previous one, those two seasons may have worked despite very thin story lines.
If you end up on June’s side after Season 1, how invested will you be in future episodes where she continues to be maligned and not end up a victor?
Don’t think Atwood would have written her story arc this way.
ETA spelling.

Is anyone still watching? I have feelings about this ending and I need to talk it out with someone.
