'Kate Middleton' and 'Meghan Markle' get more impressions on websites/articles than calling them 'Duchess of Cambridge' and 'Duchess of Sussex'. I think it's really as simple as trying to get as many clicks as possible, not a sign of disrespect.

It also creates a sense of familiarity with them, as though we mere mortals know them and wouldn’t have to follow protocol if we met them, because Dichesses! They’re just like us!
I do wonder how the media would style the male partner of a birth royal. If Harry was a woman, would his partner be referred to in such a chunky style? I think so - that’s how the tabs work, but it’d be interesting to compare the differences across the genders. I guess how they deal with Zara’s spouse but they’re kind of out of the royal loop in some ways. And he has such a working class nose it affects EVERYTHING! (Kidding, yet not...)
The media always called Diana Princess Di, and I remember articles about how it was incorrect and inappropriate to call her that as it wasn’t her proper title.

There's probably no good way to compare because there are no eligible females in the family right now that rank as high as Harry. Zara's husband is only known as "Mike Tindall" and Eugenie's husband is only known as "Jack Brooksbank", but neither of them have titles. And because they are men, they don't have maiden names to discard.

I think it's partially just calling them by the names they first got prominent with, as that's what they're mostly known as and imprinted into the public imagination as. So George is going to be referred to as Prince George, but the married-ins will be called by their maiden or full names.

More and more I find that church parade absolutely creepy. Subjects lined up in the hope of being able to exchange a word or two with them, then spill the beans to the reporters swarming the joint. Squealing when Charlotte hugs one of the "royal fans". Body language and lip reading "experts" telling us plebes what the royals say, and how their behaviour today shows that "they still like each other!!!"
Although I did really like Kate's coat, which I suppose is the whole point of the thing.

Kate has the most beautiful coats. I love that fitted style, with all the buttons. Is there a North American (preferably Canadian) source for such coats, on a plebe's budget?

The site "What Kate Wore" has a couple of sections highlighting similar garments, although prices vary.

In that photo, I love that she has lines in her forehead and a normal looking face for her age. It’s really refreshing in this age of plumped up lips and instagram filtered skin.
