That video looks amazing. I grew up in Hawai'i, and my family visited Volcanoes National Park when I was 12. Kilauea was dormant then, but we went to see a lava lake and it was spectacular. About ten years later, mid-80s, Kilauea started erupting, and now some of the areas I walked over in tours are gone.

I was in college in Colorado Springs when Mount St. Helens blew - we had ash all over our cars. Flying from Seattle to Eugene a few years ago, we went right over the mountain, so you could see the one side all blown out.

No mention of the Colorado shooting?

The news here said it was the 7th mass shooting is the US this week. Is my memory fuzzy, or did it seem like there were no mass shootings while Trump was prez? I can't remember him making (or blatantly not making) any official condolence statement about such a thing. Or was the news so heavily focused on his latest tweet that everything else was ignored?

There was the Las Vegas massacre and the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas shooting while 45 was in office.

Last year I remember seeing a headline stating that b/c of the pandemic shut down, March 2020 was the 1st in 20 years w/o a school shooting.

I thought it was interesting that the shooter was 21, like the Atlanta shooter. Kyle Rittenhouse was 17. I shudder to think of the messaging these kids are receiving.

There were too many to count--and they were covered. Trump et al did the whole 'thoughts and prayers' bullshit.
