I remember thinking he was hot in Tomb Raider, but I dunno...he hasn't seemed to have aged too gracefully.

I'm sorry, I think that that "entrance" is totally lame. He looks like a total jackass on that boat. You're a pouncy actor, not a real MI5 agent.

I'm not feeling this choice but it's not as though there is an actor out there who fits the part the way Pierce Brosnan did. He'll be a transistional Bond.

I thought he was incredibly hot in The Ice House and seeing him after that bath/shower in Tomb Raider was scorching, but after seeing that boat picture it's fading fast..

He sported a nice cut body in Tomb Raider but his screen presence was zzzzzzzzz. I like that he is very rugged-looking and not handsome but I would have liked him as Bond MONTHS ago when rumors started that he is the next Bond. All this pussyfooting around announcing his employment pissed me off as it got my hopes up that someone else will be Bond.

I don't really like him (see page 1) but I am sort of coming to terms with the news. He is a decent actor with a rugged, manly presence and that will work for Bond. He isn't as pretty-pretty as Pierce (but few men are) and doesn't seem like the great fit that Pierce was, but the Bond films need some major changes. The only things holding the last few Bond films together were Pierce's performance, effects and brand recognition, imo. The stories, baddies and (for the most part) the women just weren't cutting it. Going for a rough around the edges Bond might give the series some much-needed energy and a reason for the writers to revitalize the character and the situations he is put into.

Must admit that I had no clue who this guy was, but just saw him on the news and he SO looks like he could be 007. Blonde or not, he has that snooty, slightly hot Bond vibe.
I think a lot of the prob with the Bond movies is not just the choice of Bond, but the fact that they exhausted the original stories years ago and are making them up now. When they started making Bond a PC kind of guy, not the original take-no-names-screw-everything-in-a-skirt kind of guy, the stories got lame and even a great actor can't rise above a truly atrocious script.
