I hope he looks better in film than in sitll photography. There's something to be said about charisma. It really doesn't come across in his photos. Good luck to him with the role though.

I think he should dye his hair. Blonde doesn't seem very Bond-y to me.

Hmm what a strange choice I don't think he has the right charisma (He played Ted Hughes in the fugstick number: "sylvia" and I didn't find him attractive nor compelling enough for that role, thus even less appropriate for James Bond) I was really hoping for Ewan, he was so Sean Connery JB-like in that puff piece "Down with Love" he was all suave and sexy and charmy/smarmy... sigh

He's currently filming "The Visiting " with Nicole Kidman in Baltimore .
I would have preferred they choose Hugh Jackman .

I was surprised to find him quite attractive in Sylvia. The voice was to die for. So, I'm taking back all the bad things I said about him while I was hoping they'd choose Gerry Butler. I think Craig will make a great Bond.
Having said that, I'm still waiting for the press conference to confirm. There have been too many stories that didn't pan out.

I love him. He grabbed my attention in Tomb Raider, and I've been following him ever since. Maybe it's the body. I'm shallow that way.

Witchie, see if you can rent this movie. Although he doesn't show on the first page for cast, he is Moll's love interest and has tons of screen time, and excellent in it to boot.

Uh oh...he'd better be doggone good in the role, else he'll go the way of George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton. Although Dalton did at least 2 Bond films, didn't he.
From his photo alone, I ain't feelin' him.

Don't like him. I have seen him in several films and think he is a decent actor but I don't think he is very sexy or charasmatic. He does have this rugged look that might work if they really are taking Bond in a new direction after pretty boys like Brosnan and Dalton, but I just can't see him making ladies give it up within a few seconds of meeting him and that seems like a necessary requirement for James Bond. I am glad that someone I admire won't be tied up for years making Bond films (actors like Ewan, Clive and Jude should be making interesting films that stretch their acting abilities, not even more drivel - entertaining as that drivel may be) but I wish that they had cast someone who I like watching on screen.
I, too, am waiting for an official press release. I think Julian McMahon would be perfect (since Hugh Jackman has said he doesn't want the role). He is all kinds of sexxxy and suave on Nip/Tuck, has acting ability to spare and could certainly fill out a tux.
