Must admit that I had no clue who this guy was, but just saw him on the news and he SO looks like he could be 007. Blonde or not, he has that snooty, slightly hot Bond vibe. I think a lot of the prob with the Bond movies is not just the choice of Bond, but the fact that they exhausted the original stories years ago and are making them up now. When they started making Bond a PC kind of guy, not the original take-no-names-screw-everything-in-a-skirt kind of guy, the stories got lame and even a great actor can't rise above a truly atrocious script. There was an article at the MI 6 site (same place as the mother spilled the beans story) that said the new screenwriter, Haggis, is going to try for a renewal like the Batman Begins movie, something a little darker for Bond. Everyone knows that if they don't get the script right this time, it's curtains. All the fans have been complaining for years.

Yes, the storylines have often been campy. Goldeneye was the last good one, and before that, one of the Timothy Dalton ones.
Denise Richards...ugh

He has the bluest eyes (next to Paul Newman) that I've ever seen. That is all.

He does have a slightly Sean Connery look going on in that publicity photo. And he's blonde. Big whoop.
Personally, considering how pretty much all of the Bond movies for at least twenty years (disregarding 'The Living Daylights', which I love unreservedly) are largely interchangeable, I just hope they do something interesting with it this time around, since the only Bond movie I've actually seen at the cinema is 'Die Another Day', and as you might understand that's no experience I'm in a great hurry to repeat.

'The Living Daylights', which I love unreservedly) I love that one too. It is the best one and Dalton was the best Bond.

I prefer LICENCE TO KILL over THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS because i like revenge stories and Carey Lowell kicked Maryam D'Ado's ass when it comes to Bond Girls. Dalton wasn't a bad Bond but he was utterless humorless which is a great failing because Sean Connery was so good with the sardonic.

The eyes have it for me.
Sean Connery is my all time favorite bond. His has sexy, expressive eyes. And so does Craig. Oh those blue eyes just slay me - dreamy! And he just seems so.... British.
whitefalcon, thanks for posting that pic. And you're assessment of his look is dead on.

Yeah, thank God for the sexy pic because I was starting to think it was curtains for this franchise because in all the other pics.........this guy is a dog. I hope they shine him up for most of the movie. otherwise I smell another Lazenby. I don't require prettiness in my Bond, but he can't be damned ugly, either. I'm not familiar with this guy's work, but I hope his voice and personality carries his messed-up grill through the movie.
