John is NOT goodlooking at all.
There's so much noise around this guy who is so incredibly underwhelming to me.

I love his comedy specials, his SNL appearances and his late-night interviews.
Of all of the standup specials I've watched in the past year....The male comedians all made, at some point, obnoxious, misogynistic jokes about how terrible women are. And the female comedians all, unfortunately, lived up to the stereotype of female comedians - tons of material about their vaginas, but no jokes that were particularly funny. (Jenny Slate's Netflix special was a horribly self-indulgent pile of nothing that shouldn't even be called comedy.)
I like Mulaney because he's a smart observational comedian who doesn't me angry or feel like I've wasted my time by watching him.
I probably bought into the image he was cultivating a little too much, but I'll definitely still race to watch his next Netflix special and try to catch him if he tours near me.

I wouldn’t have recognized her. She must have gotten another batch of Japanese potatoes in.

(Jenny Slate's Netflix special was a horribly self-indulgent pile of nothing that shouldn't even be called comedy.) This could be broadly applied to just about everything she puts out. Jenny's another one whose popularity I don't understand.

I loved Jenny Slate as Mona Lisa Saperstein on Parks and Rec, and she did one bit on Seth Meyers's show that made me think she'd be a funny storyteller as a standup, but mostly everything she does is a big disappointment. I loathed that movie Obvious Child, which had her playing a standup comedienne whose material is nothing but unfunny jokes about her vagina. I think that may have been her own material. In the context of the movie, I think we were supposed to think she's a totally awesome standup and that those jokes were great. There's a Horse Loose in the Hospital Just this morning when I was glancing at the Politics thread, I saw an unattributed Mulaney quote. (How Donald Trump's lifestyle was basically a hobo's fantasy of how they would spend their money if they were rich. "My name on a building in big gold letters!") I also like that Mulaney's standup is usually not about politics.

It really doesn't look like him, though. That photo farther down is what he looks like, and this blah dude's face doesn't resemble it! Also, I love how there's a caption that says they "met in church".

He looks like a cross between John Krasinski and Harry Connick, Jr.
