He looks exactly like his mother and one of his sisters, he has a daughter he probably hasn't seen in years, and I can honestly say I think the most interesting thing about him is his center tooth. Also, Lestat might be his best role, besides pretending to be a normal human being. |

To honor the new thread, I'll ask for the millionth time: what do you think Katie's dad had on Tom that made him pivot from fighting the divorce to giving Katie everything she asked for and abandoning his daughter?
From time to time I feel compelled to express my admiration for Mr. Holmes. I hope he's been rewarded with a close relationship with Suri.

I would love to know the answer to this also. I don't know if this is a cheap guess, but honestly, solid evidence of non-heterosexual encounters on Tom's part would be my speculation. I feel like there are a lot of PR battles he'd be willing to fight but that's one he wouldn't even want to open the door to. |

I feel like it wasn't anything major, I doubt Katie and Tom had the sort of relationship where he would confess anything to her like closet homosexuality. I think it was more that they were willing to fight and they were going to go public. If Katie were willing to go public with some of the coercion methods they used, that might be enough to get Miscavige to back off and convince Tom to let them go as suppressives.

She went through and witnessed a lot during their time together. So many shenanigans. I hope someday we hear about all of it. I'm in the minority that believe he's straight. I think we'd have more obvious clues like with John Travolta and his "personal massage therapists" who travel with him. I think Tom is just a weird person and not that sexual to begin with. |

I think this might be it. I just had a conversation with someone who is in a very conservative religion and she was telling me how they are actively encouraged to not bring any negative attention on the church since there is already controversy surrounding them. I think Katie going public would have gotten a lot of sympathy and brought a lot of shame on Tom Cruise and Scientology. This was also before they had Leah Remini going after them too, so that kind of huge scrutiny would have been newer territory for them. |

I think most of us have been gossip watchers for long enough to remember the recorded phone call between him and Nicole. She was definitely unsatisfied with the level of intimacy between them, and he was making excuses about being tired all the time. That convo convinced me they were not faking the marriage, which was heavily rumored at the time. The end of that marriage is chronicled in Lawrence Wright's book Going Clear. Miscavige hated Nicole because she had so much influence over Cruise and was trying to get him out of the church. Miscavige orchestrated that divorce. The goal was to ruin her. Katie and her father had the benefit of hindsight. She also spent enough time with Connor and Bella to know how Tom had alienated them from Nicole. She could see the writing on the wall.
