I think another think that distinguishes Dolly is her overwhelming gratitude for her success and her fans. She grew up super poor--I think having shoes was a luxury. Her dad couldn't read. She's not embarrassed of her roots and she's stayed so, so connected to them. She just oozes gratitude. I think with that level of fame and adulation it's easy to feel entitled and live in a bubble of specialness. She's just so genuine. I really need to watch 9 to 5 again sometime soon. That was a great movie back in the day--I'd like to see how well it holds up to time. It was on TCM over the weekend. I think it holds up fine. Dolly had me at 'You'd be surprised at how much it costs to look this cheap". She was in on the joke; grateful for her success, and she oozes charm and charisma with every breath, and seems like someone you could have dinner with and laugh until you cried.

The scenes of the three of them stealing the wrong dead body and then squabbling about it never fails to cheer me up.

I think there's a sequel/reboot of 9 to 5 in the works, and all three of the original ladies are involved. I can't remember if I read that or dreamed it, LOL I'm getting old. Dolly has donated 100 million books to kids. She's an angel and a saint. Such a beautiful way to honor her father and help others. She's pure light.

Dolly is THE BEST of the best. This board is NOT allowed to ruin our crush under any circumstances. It would kill me to learn she's anything but sunshine and light.

My 2.5 year old loves getting a book each month from "Dolly Pardon." The books the foundation selects are varied and inclusive - it's such an incredible program!
My favorite Dolly role is Truvy in Steel Magnolias. She delivered such great one-liners!

That's pure Dolly. Truvy loved her makeup, she loved her friends, she got up each day and went out there and made people happy.

Sky usaully all Brexit News has Dolly on being all sense and goodness and sunshine, her 9 to 5 musical is starting in West End London which I’d love to see. She’s a joy. The interviewer was totally starstuck.
