I don't think Yuri Shefler is one of the top guys in the Putin world (And I may be VERY wrong about that -- going by memory, but I don't remember his name being on the list of top 25 associate oligarchs)... but undercutting your ex to sell to a Russian billionaire right now definitely has a certain "shady as fuck" feeling attached to it.

I just googled Shefler, and his brand is actually run out of Latvia, not Russia. They have no Russian operations at all. He may be Russian by birth, but he has been living abroad for 20 years and Putin doesn't like him one bit. His wife Tatiana is from Ukraine, as well, and the brand has been putting pro-Ukraine content on their website as they have operations in Ukraine.

Ah! I was just reading about him. He's owner of Stoli Vodka, and they're rebranding. The article said he was pushed out of russia years ago. So not one of the dirty double dozen billionaires. Which I suppose looks better for Angelina. But still, doing something to make her ex's life more difficult, which looks bad for her.

She tried to sell the property for years and he wouldn't let her or buy her out. She took it to court and got permission to sell. It's pretty comedic of him to pretend like selling a vineyard to Stoli is some kind of shady business deal. He's gonna lose this battle just like he's probably lost all his kids.
