I think GP looks nice when she's glammed up with the full stylist and makeup team treatment but when she's not she looks really wan and unhealthy. She looks considerably older than her age, too. We are the same age, but she actually looks like a little old lady sitting there in the courtroom. I don't look 25 anymore but I also don't look like I have osteoporosis. |

Just listened to the first few minutes of the trial, so far we’ve learned she’s been skiing since she’s 3 and an intermediate level skier (no big deal), she hires multiple ski instructors for thousands of dollars for her kids so they all can skip the line (entitled much?), she’s skied Deer Valley half a dozen times (that’s nothing), and I guess there was GoPro footage at one time that proves the Doctor hit her and not the other way around, but that’s since disappeared (funny how that happens.)
Oh, her kids and now husband didn’t see anything, but will still testify. Probably that she told them he hit her. Can his significant others and the ski patrol testify that he told them that Paltrow ran into him?
It’s he said she said, so I don’t see how the doctor skier can win, it’s so long ago and no proof.
I think she rammed him. I actually remember the accident, I had skied at Deer Valley and it resonated.
He immediately said and described how she plowed into him, then skied off. He was injured badly. She later claimed he was just looking for a payday because she was famous.
Not a good look, Gwyneth.

Gwyneth must have read how everybody thought she looked smug and old for her age, because her lawyer complained about the photo in court today, and the judge admonished the photographer. Apparently it's "decorum" for the reporters to photograph only those who are at the mic. I don't know who I believe. The plaintiff has a witness who says Gwyneth is at fault, but that witness is his friend. The ski instructors on the scene thought the plaintiff was at fault, but those ski instructors were Gwyneth's employees. Gwyneth's lawyer raised option #3 which is that nobody is really responsible; you go skiing, you take a risk. He immediately said and described how she plowed into him, then skied off. He was injured badly. She later claimed he was just looking for a payday because she was famous. I kind of remember this. I remember that I didn't think it spoke well to his credibility that he ran to the media immediately. I witnessed somebody fake a collision in Walmart and they started screaming at the top of their lungs that the person rammed into them with the cart and that their leg was injured. This might be a high-class version of a Walmart lawsuit. |

Emily D. Baker is doing live commentary of the trial. (UGH, I have sh*t to do, Emily! Now I'm hooked.) Gwyneth's lawyer is challenging another camera in the courtroom and the judge is not entertaining it. Emily is talking about her annoyed facial expressions.
Also, one of the lawyers is named "Mr. Bueller" which is very funny every time the judge says it.
ETA - Emily discussed Gwyneth's public perception and the fact that her lawyer is a condescending prick talking down to the jury. She said Gwyneth needs to be humanized to the jury and this lawyer was not a good choice for that. She said that Johnny Depp's legal team did a great job of humanizing him and it hugely impacted the jury (true, even if you don't like JD). Emily said clients should choose a lawyer who can compensate for their shortcomings, which for Gwyneth is her snobby public perception. EDB said she likely chose a lawyer who is like her and she relates to, so they both come across as jerks.
The lawyers are SPICY in this trial and very obviously dislike each other, even more so than the Depp/Heard attorneys.

I had to step away for a meeting and am now catching up. But it's been very technical medical testimony about brain function and research databases. The jury hasn't even been brought in yet, it's all expert witness evaluation. Gwyneth's lawyer is still a snotty brat. The plaintiff is not in the courtroom during the medical testimony because it's too upsetting for him to hear it. Emily says it may influence the jury bc GP is sitting there throughout the trial. She looks extremely bored which I actually sympathize with. She's also wearing a HUGE gold chain necklace today. She also has a cute 2nd lawyer who is very Clark Kent-ish.

Damn, am I glad everyone wears helmets when skiing now. After Sunny Bono and a few other accidents like the this one, please protect the head.
