The glasses are also quite Dahmerish (Dahmeresque?)

I know metal frames are back in style but they will always look like David Koresh to me. Washington Post is covering the trial and they referred to GP as a "lifestyle influencer" which felt like a scorching burn. ETA: Jinx, Ladybug! I think the conclusion is that metal frames read as psychopathic.

The glasses are also quite Dahmerish (Dahmeresque?) Her glasses are actually exactly like Dahmer's. Maybe she bought Dahmer's glasses - TMZ said they were for sale.It is perhaps a reflection of my advanced age that I still think smaller glasses and sunglasses like the ones Carolyn Bessette wore in the late 90s are more flattering. But I look at the big glasses and just think they are objectively ugly and they make whoever is wearing them look like a google-eyed suburbanite from the 1970s.

Kind of off-topic, but I recently followed a CBK fan account on Instagram and was struck by the fact that she had one pair of sunglasses she wore consistently. That's it, one pair. Today celebs constantly get free merch and probably have 25 pairs of sunglasses, but she just had one. Maybe they were prescription sunglasses, but the page hasn't shared any pics of her with regular glasses so it leads me to think she just stuck with the sunnies that she liked. Her outfits are definitely 90s minimalism, but she would look completely normal and chic walking around NYC today in any of these clothes, maybe just tailored slightly differently. The influence she had on Gwyneth's fashion is obvious. Wedding pics with John John. ETA - update on the testimony, the plaintiff had a significant change in personality after suffering a concussion as a result of this skiing collision. His girlfriend ended their relationship because his personality and behavior changed so much. He also lost interest or couldn't participate in activities he loved before the accident. Whoever caused the accident, it changed his life for the worse. Update II - When they broke for lunch, Gwyneth walked out of the courtroom before the judge dismissed the parties. EDB seemed to think this was inappropriate, but yesterday the judge gave her permission to leave early. Now her lawyer wants to introduce testimony from the plaintiff's estranged daughter about the guy's character. EDB hates her lead attorney, LOL.

I follow some CBK accounts too, and she really was part of a different era. She didn't have a big diamond engagement ring or a "stack" (which is standard now among both celebrities and regular people). She had one designer bag, not a huge collection.
I wonder sometimes how she would or wouldn't have changed with the times. I kind of think she was a Connecticut WASP who would have remained understated, and would have wanted to keep herself apart from celebrity trends.
Also, everybody knows that her wedding dress was copied millions of times, but none of the copies can beat the original. That was not just a run-of-the-mill slip dress. That dress was fitted to her perfectly (look at how great her boobs and her butt look in that dress!) and I love how she transitioned from the ceremony (with the veil and the gloves and the chignon) to the casual reception with her hair down. No second dress for her!

Gwyneth is on the stand and so far she comes across pretty well. She is answering the questions in a calm manner and not letting the lawyer for the plaintiff trip her up. After the collision she went to lunch and got a massage. That looks bad in print but when she told the story it made sense and did not come off as weird. She is very clear about what happened - he collided with her and they fell. She also said that the plaintiff’s eyewitness was not telling the truth about what happened.
The plaintiff lawyer said “she’s lied under oath multiple times” and her lawyer went off! He jumped up and said “that is slanderous!”
Emily D Baker brought up the point that Gwyneth could have settled and why go through this public trial if she really did this. She has taken it this far because she won’t be held responsible for something she didn’t do.
ETA her lawyer is bad. The plaintiff’s lawyer is bad. And starstruck by Gwyneth.

I actually love big glasses- I'm all for Jackie O style glasses- but Paltrow's are just bad.
I have watched almost nothing- that this is a trial on tv is a joke to me... But I did watch a couple minutes of Paltrow on the stand. (after reading some say she came off well). I thought she came off terribly. She was blinking like 1000 times a minute. That being said: I'm not particularly of the mind she is in the wrong (or the right... don't know- don't care. 2 rich people fighting over their traumas of having harder times tasting wine and such is not my cup of tea). eta: I can see some people thinking the lawyers are oddly friendly and unprofessional in fawning over Paltrow- I actually think the prosecutor is using this as a strategy to kinda lull her into feeling more comfortable. It's a common strategy. Maybe I'm wrong though- I've watched about 5-10 minutes total and can't stomach more.
Gwyneth's hair though... her hair... why? She needs to cut it. There were a few photos of her with her hair tucked into her shirt- it looked so much better. And the color- just ... guuurrrrllll - no.

I don’t know why Gwyneth’s colorist doesn’t know about toner and lets her run around in that brassy color. It’s not “golden” or “sun-kissed” it’s “yellow”. She should go back to the bob she had around the time of the first Iron Man movie. That looked great on her. I’ve seen a few minutes of her in court, and yes - she’s acting like this is a huge, annoying, waste of her time. To be there amongst the poor, in the public courthouse. Ew. My favorite bit was when the lawyer tried to be all, “And this accident ruined the rest of your VERY EXPENSIVE vacation, didn’t it?” And Gwynnie somberly nods as she say, “Well, it cost me half a day of skiing, yes.” The poor darling. HALF A DAY of skiing! Gone! Just like that! The very idea!

You noticed that as well? I thought it was my television initially. She needs to darken her hair, I actually liked her Pepper Potts hair.
