So I caught some clips of this trial and Gwyneth looks totally over it. š To be fair, she always looks like that.

I wonder if people who work in these courts love or hate these types of trials. It seems incredibly frivolous compared to what they probably see on a daily basis. I wonder if it's a relief or a total pain in the a*s.
I can't stand Gwynnie but I think this guy is playing everybody. I would probably be rolling my eyes all day long too TBH, if I was her. (Like, I mean, more than she usually does.)

Take the celebrity element out of it and it's a pretty standard personal injury case. If I were on a civil jury, I'd rather have a case like this than some corporate lawsuit or something. At least I can understand a ski accident!
I am really interested in how the jury will decide who's at fault, if anyone. Personally, I think he was at fault and hit her. If she had been at fault, she could've made this quietly go away years ago. She's been fighting it in court because she didn't do what he's accusing her of. And while the concussion probably caused some cognitive decline, there have been experts on the stand who've said it could also be dementia or normal aging.
The plaintiff's lawyers are trying to phone a witness. It's not going well.

I believe Gwyneth. I don't think I believe her because she's famous, or likeable (LOL!) or that she has money for better lawyers. I just think the plaintiff has not proven his case, and her version of events is more believable. (Although admittedly, her CGI reenactment was very helpful to illustrate what she was talking about.*) I think the plaintiff isn't after money but is after public validation. His own neuropsychologist testified that getting an apology from Gwyneth has been his "obsession" for the past 7 years. And there has been evidence from the very beginning that her being a celebrity played a big part in how he behaved after the incident. (Again, I always thought it was suspicious that he immediately sought out the media to tell them about his celebrity run-in.) *Edited to provide a better source for the CGI video.

I think the plaintiff isn't after money but is after public validation. His own neuropsychologist testified that getting an apology from Gwyneth has been his "obsession" for the past 7 years. Emily D. Baker theorized that he can't accept that he caused the accident that badly injured him and kicked off a cognitive decline. He has to blame someone else because admitting he caused his own pain and suffering would hurt too much. I can't get over that in his own testimony he said as soon as the crash happened, someone yelled at him "You just hit someone!" and he still thinks Gwyneth hit him. And I agree her fame has played a big part in it. He got cussed out on the slope by snooty Gwyneth and it deeply hurt his pride.

Gwyneth touched the plaintiff on the shoulder on her way out of the courtroom and said something. I'm not a lip reader, but I think it was. "I'm sorry."
I would be scared to touch or talk to someone who's been obsessed with avenging himself against me and just lost.

Wasnāt part of Paltrowās defense that someone heard Sanderson say āIām sorryā¦ā as he was laid out on the snow, and that was proof of his fault?
