I do like the house, at least the four and a half rooms that she showed us. It's very Gwyneth, for better or worse. I guarantee that her husband Brad had no say at all in anything. And I really hope that there's a big theatre/screening room somewhere else in the house for the sake of her kids as the living room has no TV. There aren't any personal photos at all!
P.S. I was really expecting Gwyneth to put her Oscar in a place of pride with spotlights shining down on it.

P.S. I was really expecting Gwyneth to put her Oscar in a place of pride with spotlights shining down on it. I think Gwyneth gave her Oscar to her mother. Not to be sweet, but so that when people visit Blythe they will say, "Oh Blythe, is that your Oscar?" and she will have to reply, "No, I never won an Oscar. That's my daughter's Oscar."

I have a hard time believing the whole family spends "a lot of time together" sitting on that "already U-shaped" sofa in that sterile living room, with that tangle of wires and light bulbs perched precariously overhead.
What do they do, just sit there staring at each other, shivering in the cold starkness of her aesthetic? Please.

Gwyneth loves reclaiming things, I think she loves buying really expensive things through a high-priced design team that are marketed as reclaimed. She didn't pick that "reclaimed" sink up on the side of the road and put it in her kitchen. True! Gwyneth loves claiming she loves reclaiming. They have a fireplace. They must have copied that from Gwynnie-poo.

She has one of the dullest voices I've ever heard. The dining room, kitchen and living room weren't to my taste, but I'd take the spa.

I didn’t get through the whole video because I don’t care that much, but what is it with her and swinging furniture? She had some kind of swinging crate thing years ago in a New York apartment in another article about her that I didn’t bother finishing.

What do they do, just sit there staring at each other, shivering in the cold starkness of her aesthetic? Please. I’m sure they sit there discussing how amazing Gwyneth is! Seriously we probably saw 1/5 of the house. I’m sure there are other living areas and bedrooms and bathrooms that aren’t full spas where they spend the bulk of their time. Her kids and stepkids are teenagers and she probably has a whole area designated for them.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't like the spa. It feels too large and cavernous for a single family and gives off a bit of a prison vibe to me for some reason. Like I could picture a line of inmates being marched in, forced to stand under the showers, and then tortured with the cold plunge.
The only other room I had strong feelings toward was the living room, which I hate pretty much everything about. From its drab color scheme to the tangled chandelier...and what is with the two rectangular art pieces above the fireplace? One is pure beige and the other white. I find them hideous. And they are matched by another depressing piece in shades of gray above the couch. The marble bar with the gold hardware looks really random to me and out of place in the room. Like something Gordon Gekko or the cast of Miami Vice might have in their apartment in the '80s. Just big and bulky and ostentatious. I don't really picture Japanese whisky being served from a bar like that, sorry.
I don't know. The whole place seemed like somewhere you would go to be sad.

I marveled at the fireplaces in every single room, but that house really feels like it needs them. Just cold and cavernous. I liked her powder room, the tiles on the backsplash, and I liked the idea of the spa, but again, it was too cold and cavernous. Like, cut the size down by half and it might be okay. I don’t know. I’ve been feeling very “less is more” lately and I just don’t see the point of these giant houses. I’d rather show off my wealth in a smaller house that is really well-appointed on a nice piece of land. And I remember liking her apartment in Nashville. Still a huge apartment, but feels like maybe people actually live there.
