Surprisingly, Meghan is the first Duchess of Sussex. The title of Duke of Sussex was used once before for Prince Augustus Frederick, ninth child of King George III. Neither of his two wives were permitted to become Duchess of Sussex. His first marriage was annulled and his second marriage was childless.
His son from his first marriage was Sir Augustus d'Este, who “attempted to claim his dukedom of Sussex and other peerages, but the House of Lords decided against his claim, as the prince's marriage had been null and void. Although he had affairs with women, he never married and, therefore, even if he had succeeded to his father's titles, they would have become extinct on his own death.”
Thanks, Wikipedia!

I guess when the trailer for the podcast dropped last week, I assumed that meant the podcast was actually in production and they were in the midst of researching and interviewing. But maybe not? Gimlet/Archewell posted a job last week looking for a producer and from what I'm reading it sounds like they still need to hire someone who will do the bulk of the work on this. Was their first round of hiring back in January not successful? I guess all they have right now is the idea and the trailer, which isn't that much progress considering this has been in the works for 18 months. I'd say the chances of this coming out in summer are slim to none. Pray for the person who has to give Meghan 'feedback.'

The ideal candidate has experience working with high-profile talent, Attention survivors of the Ellen Degeneres Show - Archewell has a job for you! Relevant skills needed include: ducking, flattery, averting your eyes, agreeing that the mistake was your fault, explaining yourself, being available, being invisible, crying in your car, and remembering that anxiety attacks just mean you are working hard!

I have no relevant experience to the position but I'm tempted to apply just to see how desperate they are.

I have no relevant experience to the position but I'm tempted to apply just to see how desperate they are. I think I may apply as well! I barely speak English (that will be an advantage when I get yelled at) but I'm great with organizing stuff. Everything from arranging Spotify playlists to judging women based on someone else's sense of what is important. However, I think the skill being able to "coordinate schedules and deadlines" is the key to this job. Just make schedules and deadlines disappear and all will be fine? Apparently, it's been the winning strategy so far.

The recent celebration of life for Prince Philip with many members of royal families should have been an occasion to make Megz very happy. Dresses, jewelry, heels, all of the best receptions with tiny foods. Maybe the royal manners really did weigh her down: the low-ranked Duchess would have to curtsy to absolutely everyone.

Was Meghan put at the very end of the order of precedence (when she was without Harry)? If she was at the celebration this week, she wouldn’t have had to curtsy any more than Kate. Heck, even Charles had to bow to Felipe, Willem-Alexander and Philippe (and their wives) and he’s at least 10-20 years older than them.
I see Sophie Wessex doing many things now that Meghan could have been doing. What a missed opportunity for someone passionate about women’s issues.

Does that also mean William, etc. has to do the same to other crowned heads of state? Did the Cambridges bow to the King of Bhutan when they went on tour a few years ago? Does the bowing extend to when heirs meet heirs? (I remember seeing a video from a few years ago when the Cambridges visited Victoria and Daniel of Sweden; IIRC no one bowed even though Victoria is the #1 heir in Sweden and William is the #2 heir in the UK, although Kate and Daniel hung back until William and Victoria greeted each other.) At the memorial service, how do HSHs like Albert of Monaco greet HRHs?
