News about the podcast - she is sticking with the 'Arche' branding and calling it "Archetypes." There's also a trailer on Spotify, but I haven't heard it yet.
This sounds more interesting that "Meghan interviews famous women."

The title is really stupid. They need to stop belaboring this branding.
But the theme sounds interesting IF it's well executed. Thus far, Meghan's various attempts at interviewing have resulted in superficial and dull interviews, even with women who are normally very interesting. But a good producer should help her come up with better questions.

The theme and topic sound super interesting, but nothing that Meghan has done so far suggests that she has the rigor and incisiveness that the topic needs. Hopefully, she has good producers and writers to do the heavy lifting. Also not sure this will be the blockbuster podcast to justify their deal.

It’s a topic that in the hands of a truly unbiased party with zero axe to grind could be interesting. Stereotypes (of both genders) or narratives that then colour what anyone actually says and does and how it’s interpreted is real, whether in a group of friends (the rigid one, or the ditzy one) in a family (the famous golden child and scapegoat child dynamic). But I can imagine all the interviews will be as subtle as an anvil in just furthering MEGHAN’s agenda of how SHE was lumped into a box and treated unfairly as a result.
This is likely going to be Meghan’s version of the Miranda storyline of AJLT (which was apparently driven by Cynthia Nixon) to put her romantic/being true to oneself ‘spin’ on what played out almost exactly in the actresses real life. There was a similar feel watching Sense8 that it was the Wachowski’s personal agenda on telling their story rather than an organic part of the plot. And of course a directors and actors experiences should be part of the storytelling, that’s what can also lead to beautifully effective stories and moments (eg Mandy Patinkin’s “I want my father back you sonovabeetch” where he was directly addressing the cancer that took his own father’s life in months prior). I guess I’m saying having a personal agenda when making a story can be more effective/touching for the audience in the right hands, and just be self serving and not with the audience enjoyment in mind in the wrong hands. And if I had to guess Meghan Perpetual Axe to Grind Markle, will fall firmly in the latter category.

I don’t have Spotify so I won’t be listening. I’m not sure I would anyway. There’s so many great podcasts and not enough time to listen to them all.
I hate the name. It’s the brand, the brand, the brand above all. Leave poor Archie alone!

I may be in the minority, but it sounds boring AF to me. And agree this is not the kind of content that justifies the big payday, but I suppose at this point they are desperate to just get something out there. Anything.
The only thing I want to hear out of Meghan and Harry is royal gossip, maybe some behind the scenes looks at being a D-list Hollywood actress trying to make it, etc. Maybe the kind of lifestyle stuff she used to cover in The Tig. Like Goop-lite.
Meghan is not an intellectual heavyweight and I couldn't care less about her views on politics, feminism, etc. And I feel like we already know what she is going to say. Like an episode on how being assertive isn't appreciated in a woman for instance (I'm not a bully, just a boss!). Count me out. I'll come here for the recaps from those who want to take one for the team!

She might as well have a podcast in which she goes through each and every tabloid article, Instagram post, tweet, and comment made about her that week and refutes them. "Archetypes" will add just as much to the cultural conversation, and be as balanced and nuanced, as that.

Maybe episode 2 (after bossbitch vs bully) can be cribbed from The Tig: all about princess Kate and the disney princess fantasy/stereotype/achetype "all" little girls want, vs what Meghan wants: She-Ra princess of power! lol

Maybe the kind of lifestyle stuff she used to cover in The Tig. Like Goop-lite. What would stop her from resurrecting The Tig now? She reportedly had to give it up when preparing to marry Harry and transition to that working royal life. The thread title made me think that Meghan is the third Duchess of Sussex.
