The Pioneer Woman cooks in her “own” kitchen but it’s a separate building from the main home so not really her own kitchen.

I’d always assumed chefs / cooks at home shows were all not in “their” homes but the idea of being in a home style kitchen., so kitchen like sets or rented spaces. The only one I ever thought authentic was a baker in a tiny Paris flat kitchen I can’t remember her name. Same here, in my kitchen-show watching days, I've always figured it was a set somewhere- though as Luckylexie says, Nigella Lawson did start out in her own kitchen. But she seems to be the exception to the rule.

I know Ina Garten aka the barefoot contessa has a whole studio kitted out on her property with a kitchen built for filming. Since it’s not clear that Netflix has actually committed to the show yet or that if they do it would have longevity, probably wise not to spend money on a filming kitchen. A few friends of Meghan have started posting pics of American Riveria Orchard jam that they’ve received on their Instagram stories. It must be a limited run as the jars are numbered out of 50. Nacho’s wife got jar 10 and the wife of the Paramount CEO who flew Harry & Meghan to Jamaica got jar 17. I’m assuming this is just a promotional run leaning on celeb friends to drum up some business and that eventually she’ll move into mass production?

I don't think that's so unusual.

Apart from people seeing the home, a family kitchen that's actively being used is not suitable to function as a film set all day. Jobless Harry would be wandering in all the time for snacks. Archie and Lili would need to replenish their $200 designer sippy cups with organic, sugar-free, adaptogenic hydrating potion (aka water).
But it's still unclear as to how much Meghan is actually going to appear on this show. Is it really a Meghan cooking show? Or is she just going to be introducing other people that she's "curated"?
I'm really disappointed by that jam. Grandiose, high-priced, Goopy products would be fun. A jar of strawberry jam with a home printer label that's peeling off and a fabric lid? It's so...pedestrian.

LOL, fair enough. I guess I’m stuck in the 2000s with my Nigella Bites love. I can see now why a celeb wouldn’t want to show their actual kitchen on the show.

So I don’t understand these things. Does she just gift her ‘friends’ with some jam? And they spontaneously post about it? Or are there instructions on when and how to promote it? Say they don’t want to? It fetus like a very transactional form of friendship.
Ps I also loved Nigella Bites.

Ps I also loved Nigella Bites. You can find full seasons of Nigella Bites on YouTube. I play it in the background when I want something familiar and soothing. I really loved Nigella back when she burst onto the scene, before she believed her own hype and became intentionally seductive in the kitchen. Younger Nigella was so refreshing. And she actually knew how to cook. Topic: I suspect Meghan won’t be anything like the breezy Nigella of the 2000s. I’m not saying I hope her show flops. I’m just saying that Meghan, to date, does not embody an authentic, carefree persona that would appeal to me. I don’t think I care for another Gwyenth/Goop. What will Meghan have on offer that’s unique? I hope she doesn’t plan to shove her royalness down our throats.

The thing is, I believe that Nigella eats well and loves food. She makes stuff that I’d want to eat. I can’t imagine Meghan, Goop or another celebrity who lives their life maintaining a strict diet would make something that looks delicious and is something I’d actually want to eat.
I think 4 or 5 friends have now posted about the jam gift on social media. Still a majority of giftees haven’t posted. I imagine along with the jam there was an ask to post about it and tag the brand. Just odd to me the actual brand Instagram site isn’t reposting any of these posts or teasing the eventual (when??) product roll-out.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Lemonada isn’t expecting a new podcast series from Meghan until 2025…. Apparently the concern is releasing a podcast now would stomp on the cooking / lifestyle show. They’ve only just started filming the show and assuming production runs through the summer I have a hard time seeing the show hit the air by year end. And that’s assuming that Netflix wants to pick up the show! I don’t see why a podcast couldn’t come out this year but of course that would involve coming up with an interesting idea.
If the brand roll-out is a success I’m guessing the podcast deal will be quietly dropped. But if Jam and trinkets don’t sell to the masses then I imagine we can look forward to Archetypes season 2.
