These little speeches are too much. I'd prefer if they just showed a clip from each performance. We aren’t done the first award and I am dying of boredom. Will they all be like this?

Da'Vine was so, so good in The Holdovers. She made me cry at least five times.

*sigh* Categories with multiple winners need to nominate one person to speak. Maybe it's stingy but it's true.
Anatomy of a Fall was excellent. They deserve Original Screenplay for writing that fight scene alone.
American Fiction was great and it's nice to see a comedy win.

How wonderful to having past winners to announce the nominations. Da'Vine winning...very beautiful speech. I liked that too. I thought it was sweet. It is going to add 500 hours to the show I think maybe though. And her speech was really lovely. ETA: Paul Giamatti was super sweet helping her up to the stage and he looked so touched while she was talking.

Screenplay categories were upsets right? Although adaptation winner had been gaining momentum. Watched it last night, really good.

Screenplay categories were upsets right? Although adaptation winner had been gaining momentum. Watched it last night, really good. Not upsets, but neither category had a runaway favourite.
