I'm watching! Lupita is luminous, as always.

Just checking in. First thoughts - my God Sissy Spacek looks amazing. She's in her late 70s and barely looks 60. Jack Quaid is all grown up, and I feel very old. It seems like yesterday People magazine posted a picture of Meg Ryan in a wheelchair, leaving the hospital with him in her arms.

I've seen 7/10 (yet to see Poor Things, Zone of Interest, and Past Lives) Oscar nominated films. The only category I have super strong feelings about is Best Supporting Actress. If Da'Vine Joy Randolph doesn't win (she looks like a lock), I will riot.
It also feels very weird to be watching the Oscars while it's still light out on the East Coast. The US government and the Oscars both chose the same weekend to spring forward.

These little speeches are too much. I'd prefer if they just showed a clip from each performance.

No clips? I’d rather see clips than listen to these speeches.

I’d prefer clips as well.

Why do they never learn... Super-long intros now just means racing through the later ones.
