I was rooting for Lily (subtlety over flashy), but every predictor had them head-to-head, so not surprised.

It's not even 10:30 yet and the Oscars are finished. I'll take it. It's been fun, y'all.

Radom thoughts:
so glad for these wins: Cillian, Da'Vine, RDJ and Emma (although i was rooting for Lilly), Nolan and Oppenheimer. But Poor Things was spectacular and one of my top five favorite movies last year (Past Lives, Anatomy of a Fall, Oppenheimer, American Fiction are the others).
I might be the lone who haaaated Zone of Interest, but whatever...
happy for Mariupol, and that was a great speech. Cillian's and Emma's were lovely as well.

I hate to think this way, but it didn't seem like the AMPAS was going to give Best Actress to another woman of color back to back. I know it sounds silly, but the Academy is not above playing politics with winners. I just don't like Emma's win this year, Lily Gladstone's performance was very powerful. I also though her role in La La Land was OK. As a Beatles fan, I missed Sean Lennon winning an Oscar!

Billie Eilish is a two time Oscar winner. She's the youngest two-time Oscar winner in the program's history. Insane. I really did love the song, TBH. It was just beautiful with its message, but wow. Seeing people win that were born only in THIS century already is a lot to take in. I was so very bummed for Lily not winning. I feel that Emma will/would have had more chances in the future, whereas Lily's performance was just amazing and the historic moment was there for the Academy to bring. I think Emma was just as shocked she won, too. She knew her dress was busted and figured she wouldn't be walking up anyway. Oops! I just hope that Lily gets additional roles that gives her the chance to shine again and get a nomination and win in the near future. Ryan was BRILLIANT. Everyone was on their feet and singing along. He really should get an award for that performance.

I wonder if Ryan will get an Emmy for his performance?

Ryan was the highlight of the night for me. And RDJ, of course. It was fun seeing Iron Man go up against the Hulk for an Oscar. And the big hug from Sam Rockwell as they were walking away was a sweet moment.
