Yeah, I mean...the album it's on is called In Utero. Is anyone really shocked that HSB is a reference to a vagina? I thought it was fairly well-known that Kurt was somewhat obsessed with childbirth and female anatomy.

Courtney's just freaking out because Lana Del Ray recently covered the song, and she wants attention/to make it about her/steal a bit of Rey's youthful (mostly talentless, imo) shine. Young fame is a helluva drug for people like her and Madonna.

Now I'll be thinking of Courtney's vag and Lana Del Rey. Neither of which are pleasant thoughts.

No way is Courtney 5'11!! At most she is 5'9". She most definitively wishes she was almost 6 feet but no way. When I heard her say she was 5'11 I rolled my eyes. More Courtney fantasy exaggeration.

I remember reading something about the line "I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap" being a reference to heroin. Based on that I thought the song was about Kurt's addiction to both heroin and Courtney, and the "umbilical noose" line along with the sarcastic "forever in debt to your priceless advice" meaning he needed a "mommy" (heroin and/or Courtney) to make him feel whole and he hated himself for it. I think I'm just going to stick with that interpretation. I played the clip of Lana Del Ray singing the song while reading the article and, WOW, she sucks. She said she gets Kurt's sadness, but she clearly has no understanding of his anger or any other emotion that forces a person to exert any real energy.

Courtney gave Kurt a little heart-shaped trinket box filled with dolls and stuff soon after they met and that was the literal inspiration for the song. That information came from Kurt himself. I think he talked about it in Michael Azerrad's autobiography, and other places too. The double entendres are pretty obvious though.
Non sequitor: I was just reminded yesterday of a news article I read when Kurt's body was discovered several days after he shot himself. The article was entitled "Smells Like Kurt Cobain". Cracked me up.

Courtney's such a trainwreck druggie that her vagina probably was a heroin tar pit trap.
