I loved LTT back in the day, and I still love a lot of the songs. But, I find that "Doll Parts" is one that I now skip every time. I'm not sure if it's because I heard/listened to it so much back then or what.
One of the other albums that survived the era, in my playlist, is "Last Splash" by the Breeders. Overall I find that a stronger record, but I think some of the high points of "Live Through This" are higher. Although, I also had the experience of lending "Last Splash" to someone who hadn't listened to it back in the '90s, and her reaction was basically, "I don't get it." Soooo disappointing.

Is she still performing/songwriting/doing something? I never hear anything about her touring or anything these days, just her getting into fights with people.

According to her Twitter, she is (was?) on tour with recent stops in Australia and Japan.

I know she is on Pinterest sporadically. I heard that in voice of Ty from Clueless.

I have to read Kim Gordon's memoir if the excerpts are anything to go by - very name drop-py. Her takes on Courtney Love and Billy Corgan, while not new or original, are at least coming from somebody who's been around the scene for a long time and probably has known her share of whiny sociopathic narcissists.

HAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! That Billy Corgan excerpt. One of my other favorite ladies in rock, Kim Deal, said similar things about him.

Thanks for reminding me to pre-order that. I can't wait to read all the nasty stuff about Thurston. Even if one isn't interested in Sonic Youth, there should be a ton of interesting stuff about other famous people in there.

I just finished watching Montage of Heck, the documentary about Curt Cobain that premiered on HBO tonight. I'm still processing it. It was long and I feel really depressed having finished it. Sad for Frances most of all.
Anyhoo, Courtney is in it a lot of the video footage (most of it from movies they made of themselves) and the difference between her then and in the interviews made for the documentary was interesting. Of course she's older, but she kind of comes off like Marianne Faithful. Very gravelly and battle hardened. Appears to be sober, though.

Courtney speaks to Kurt via Instragram. If there's a God, he/she has banned social media use in Heaven. Hell is where the poor souls have to check their goddamn twitter and instagram and facebook for all of eternity.
