Wow. I'm feeling old. I can't believe Frances Bean is already 13! She seems like she's going the route of some friends of mine -- becoming very grown up in reaction to her parents not being so strong. More power to her. I hope she stays strong.

Yeah, I always fantasize that she's like the daughter on AbFab-- perfectly reasonable and together. Mostly rolls her eyes are her Mom snorts coke off the toilet seat. Hopefully her Mom's drug use has turned her off it forever. I know I'm turned off by it.

Secretly, I bet Courtney is happy about the "tell-all" book. Nancy Spungen's mom wrote one too, you know. I can't remember what it was called but I read it a few times when I was a teenager.

I think Kurt's mother has had primary custody of Frances on and off. I seem to remember a custody battle at some point.

Actually, I think Courtney's stepfather has Frances, at least that's what I read in interviews. I know Courtney used to take care of Kurt's little sister back when she made that trainwreck appearance on The Osbournes. If Courtney's a better caregiver than Kurt's mom, I think the parenting problems in that family are probably extensive. I don't think Frances lives there.

It was called "And I Don't Want to Live This Life." But Nancy's mother wrote it after Nancy was already dead. Courtney is still alive (for now) so I think it will be different for her. Nancy couldn't sue or publicly trash her mom, Courtney can.

Also: I read that the editor of the mag Frances Bean posed for (Elle Girl, maybe?) called her "a healthy mix of her parents." How the hell does one get a healthy mix out of those two? Hopefully, that was a polite way of saying she's not really like either of them.

God, I hope that's what she means. Seriously, she's probably the celebrity offspring I root for the most. She deserves college and a calm life in the suburbs after this.
