The redeeming thing about Nirvana, to me, was that they seemed fairly aware that they were not the greatest thing since sliced bread. There's some interview clips where they talk about seeing Weird Al's parody of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and they seem to find it genuinely hilarious.

I used that shit in high school--not just the deodorant, but the shampoo/conditioner too. Those marketing geniuses knew what they were doing.

Her Behind The Music is on VH1 right now. They just covered her childhood growing up and it puts a lot into perspective. It is interesting to hear from her sister and step father.
