My first post! woo hoo!
On topic, I really felt a twinge of sadness upon reading that WJS had died. For girls of my generation, she was like your sweet, spunky, manic best friend. She had an odd agelessness, never childlike but never totally grown up. I've seen "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" about 5 times; it's one of those films that if it comes on tv, I drop what I'm doing and watch.
And I'm completely impressed that Tom Hanks has kept in touch with his pals from the early days. So many celebs would have blown off a C-lister like Wendie Jo after they hit the big time.

Wow, I had no idea that she was dealing with the big C, nor that she was such a cool woman. What a shame that she had to go so early, but she did good with her life.

Her best role: Rosie the manic Paul McCartney fan in I Wanna Hold Your Hand.
*Adieu Rosie*

When I was little, I loved "Bosom Buddies" so much. Thought the idea of the dudes dressing as women was hilarious. I saw it last year and thought it sucked, though-too bad because I was excited about seeing it again. Oh well. And she was on "Babes" too? I liked that show as well! But I haven't seen it since, like, 1992.
As for Wendie, that's really too bad. I read about her in "Cosmo" a few years ago talking about having breast cancer; the article was pretty upbeat, but still, when I saw this thread I immediately thought, "I bet she died from the cancer."

I loved her in BB. Wasn't she also in an early ep of Will & Grace?

I must admit to having no clue as to who she is but I'm sad to hear of anyone dying from breast cancer, much less at the age of 47. Sad.

Count me as another one that remembered her fondly on Bosom Buddies. I LOVED that show when I was kid. I wonder how old her kids are. How heartbreaking for them to lose their mom.

Wasn't she in Moving Violations? I absolutely love that movie, and it is very sad that she died so young. GAH. She is just years younger than my mother.

According to Imdb, her son is around nineteen, and her daughter is fourteen or fifteen.
