It makes me really sad that AMPAS doesn't allow negative/attack "for your consideration" ads during Awards Season anymore because I would love to see a full-page ad being all "Annette gives the performance of her lifetime and has never partied with human-rights violating dictators unlike SOME people. I would assume a big part of it is her not taking personal responsibility for this mess. From what I've read, she's blaming everyone on her team for what happened. None of it's her fault.

That in and of itself is not good PR.

I personally believe no one forces you to do anything in this life. You always have choices.

They may not be choices you like, but you still have them. She seems to be oblivious to that concept.

It will be interesting to see where she lands.

Not true in this case but everybody might have choices, but not everybody has the same options. This probably wasn't true in her case, but every time I see "we have choices" I'm like, sure, but we don't have the SAME choices.

The theory being floated about her PR team dumping her is that this is retribution from Swank's recently dumped manager Jason Weinberg. Weinberg has other big clients he threatened to pull from the PR company if they didn't dump Hilary.

More on-topic: she's an asshole for going to the party, but Beyonce, Usher, and Mariah Carey are just as shitty, if not shittier. I can see the desperation/greed motivation for Swank who, even though she has 2 Oscars, I would argue has been in a career downslide for awhile, as far as Hollywood is concerned, and thus she's a "safe" target to criticize. Beyonce, Usher, and MC have a shit ton of money and certainly didn't need to attend the Quadaffi events. I am by no means defending Swank, but I would definitely like equal shade and criticism leveled at other opportunistic, morally bankrupt celebs who've done the same damn thing,

Hilary's also of an age where good movie roles are drying up for women. She's 37 and despite her two Oscars, she doesn't have a track record of being associated with blockbuster movies.

Hey now, Chad Lowe is on Pretty Little Liars, which is some damn fine soapy goodness. I've disliked Hilary ever since she dumped Chad. (I would have treated him right. I've loved him since Life Goes On.)

It's weird. So many of her movies are crap and in a lot of them her acting is horrible. I did think she was very good in Boys Don't Cry, I didn't see Million Dollar Baby, but it makes me wonder how she was able to garner two Oscars in the first place.

Ugh, remember when she outed him as a recovering cocaine addict after their divorce? Classless.

She strikes me as a very self-serving person and as someone upthread mentioned, doesn't want to take responsibility for her screw-ups. Her divorce wasn't her fault, her husband was a drug addict. Going to this birthday party wasn't her fault, she got bad advice. She's a special trailer park snowflake who was praised by Clint Eastwood, damnit! She doesn't make mistakes and she's got two Oscars to prove it!

I feel like what she did was even worse than Mariah, Beyonce, and I'll throw in Elton John playing at Rush Limbaugh's wedding too. They are musical performers, and the dictators and racist pigs are paying them to perform songs. Hilary was paid simply for her presence, and for some reason that bugs me more than Mariah singing "Fantasy" for Gaddafi.
