Well, kostgard, I think that they cut her a lot of slack because of her infamous snub of her now ex-husband, so she was allowed to ramble. And at the exact point when they were about to cut her off, she's all, WAIT!, WAIT!! - I have to thank my publicist. Actually, here's the entire speech: Oh MY god. Yeah, I could see how you never thought you would be nominated when you already have a nice gold statue. Honestly, trailer park to robotic memorized list in 15 seconds flat. So "down-home" that she thanks her parents after the cinematographer and her trainer. (my mother would never let me live that down). Girl, please. I know people mock Fishstick's acceptance speech but she genuinely seemed overcome by emotion (ditto Halle Berry). This was the most irksome in recent memory to me.

You're kidding right? I know a couple of regular (non-celeb) working divorced women who can attest to this.
While I did quite like Swank/Lowe as a couple, I must confess that I don't think she is that good an actor to win 2 Oscars.

Well, no, I wasn't kidding. I just can't believe that career success in and of itself would be the only reason for the demise of a marriage. There have to be other factors, perhaps related to that, perhaps not.
Topic: I actually think Hilary is attractive because she ISN'T exactly "pretty." (Same with SJP--but NOT Julia Roberts.)

In the acceptance speech that Kostard provided, what does "macushla" mean? I think she said Clint was her "macushla". Plus, did I read it wrong, or did she actually thank her lawyers...? Her lawyers?
I can understand her thanking her trainers -- that must have been excruciating, working out for a role like that and they were probably her life-line.

It's from Million $ Baby. Clint's character gives her character one of those jacket/capes that boxers wear and it says "Mo cuishle" on the back, which means (and he translates this in a teary scene at the end): My darling, my blood. It's gaelic.

I think "Mo Chuisle" (pronounced "macushla") refers to the nickname Clint's character gave her character in the movie. I believe he says it means "my blood" although I've also heard it can mean "my darling" or "pulse". Someone stop me if I'm way off. ETA beat me to it, JeanBean! Well, at least I know I'm not completely off!

I think it means 'pulse of my heart'?
eta: nope, just googled it. It means, my love or my darling or my pulse. Good word!

I wouldn't call her horse-faced, but she DOES have a major case of beotch-face.

I actually didn't write the quote you are referring to, but I do know what you mean about the whole publicist & best friend jazz.
