I think she's very lucky to have two. While I feel really did deserve the Oscar for Boys Don't Cry, I'm very surprised the Academy actually realised this too, given some of their other choices lately . In contrast for M$B I feel she was very lucky. In another year against a stronger field I doubt she would have won. I can't work out whether its because she makes incredibly bad choices or if it is because she doesn't make that many movies; that these two performances stand out so much.

Oops, it was ThursdayNext! and you were right below, but the way the scroll-y bar was aligned and stuff...
I'm so sorry, kostgard. I'm just a simple boy from the South and we're not so good with the book learnin' - but I'd like to thank every teacher I ever had...and you, of course, and our mods and Marie Chantal herself and...

I really like her. She seems nice and down to earth, and I didn't mind her Academy Award speech at all. I did think in both roles she has one for she was absolutely stellar so it doesn't bother me she has 2 statues. Though it bothers me Meryl ONLY has 2 statues, but that's a topic for another thread...

I think she's become a pretty good actor in the last few years, but I remember her on 90210 and remember thinking how BAD she was. Does anyone else remember that? I remember thinking how desperate Aaron Spelling was when he hired her as an actress. or wait... maybe it was Melrose Place. Either one... it's been so long now, she SUCKED!
But I did like her in million dollar baby.

I don't remember her in 90210. But I do remember The Next Karate Kid, hahaha.
She was awful in "The Core", but then it was an awful movie. But I cried at the end of both Million Dollary Baby and Boys Don't Cry.

Wow, I know most people find her unattractive but I just don't. She's not drop-dead gorgeous like some women in Hollywood but boy, she's pretty and she has beautiful, feminine body. She looks pretty great in almost every outfit she puts on. It's a bummer that they are divorcing because they seemed like a down to earth couple who really seemed to care about each other. I just wish he found more success, maybe then the balance wouldn't have been so tipped in her favor.

She looks good at the Golden Globes; her dress has a bit of a dominatrix look. She also says that she's "not single; she's working on her marriage." Interesting.

I don't remember her in 90210. She was Steve's single mother girlfriend - who was suddenly written out as moving back to the midwest when, in real life, Aaron Spelling fired Hilary.
