People are "horrified" at the thought of her playing Jane Austen? I think that might be just a little hysterical. It's not like they cast Pamela Anderson.
I can see the argument for other actresses, but she's not the last person I'd think of for the part or anything.
I actually think Emmy Rossum would be good in the Nanny Diaries. ScarJo isn't nearly spineless enough.

There was a pic from "Devil Wears Prada" in a recent EW - and I must say she looks really good. Whoever did her makeup did an excellent job of minimizing and blending her features. Gleen Close looks good too.

Glenn Close isn't in it, you are probebly thinking about Meryl Streep. Topic: I want Hathaway's boobs.

For some reason, I have this desire to want to hate her. I can't really explain why I don't want to like her, but I do. Quotes like the one below from an Associated Press interview make me like her more even though I don't want to.

Sounds like she has the right idea. Also, she seems to keep her personal life pretty private. I've never seen pictures of her trashed in a NY or LA bar or heard about her fighting with Paris or any of that gang.

Just posting to say I saw an advanced screening of TDWP, and Anne is VERY good in it - that must have been a fun movie shoot!
There were a lot of men in the audience and a lot of laughter, I think guys will appreciate this film because it explains why some women are so addicted to fashion, and I think anyone will appreciate what Meryl Strep did with the lead role - she is fantastic.
I need to see the movie again, it was a packed house and sometimes the laughing covered some of the dialogue.

I like her. I get the impression that she has a good head on her shoulders and she doesn't seem like a famewhore. I also think the Princess Diaries is a super-cute movie, mainly because of my irrational love for Julie Andrews, but I thought AH was good, too.

Ohhh, I can't wait to see TDWP. I like Anne (I first noticed her in Fox's short-lived series Get Real and I'm not ashamed to admit I love The Princess Diaries) and I'm glad to hear she's good in this role. I'm also pleased that she looks attractive, as she looked positively horrid with the blonde hair/black eyebrows combo in Brokeback Mountain. Blech.

I like her too, lurkaholic, and Newmy, just two days ago, my sister and I were discussing the merits of Princess Diaries 1 and 2. Personally, I love Princess Diaries but my sister, who is an avid Julie Andrews fan, says she liked them equally.
That fairy tale movie she made was terrible though.
One of the gossips for Beverly Hills 213 says AH likes hearing gossip....

Me too, and I don't know why. She's a decent actress, she's very pretty, she seems to have a good head on her shoulders - all things I like, so I don't know why she puts me off.
I don't know what it is - I guess I just get this feeling that she's someone I could only handle in short bursts if I knew her personally. Sort of like she'd be okay as an acquaintance-level friend, but if I had to spend the weekend with her or if she were my roommate, I'd kill her.
