I want to sleep with him, even though he's old enough to be my grandfather.

Whenever I hear this name I just remember Joey's Grandmother on Friends saying in her Italian accent "Sam Waterston, Capricorn One." I'm not familiar with the guy except for being mentioned on Friends.

Is there a reason he always sounds drunk on Law and Order? Seriously, are they trying to imply that McCoy is constantly wasted?
Either way, I love the Sam. But really, he must be able to film L&O in his sleep, with the same indignant closing arguments and badgering cross examinations.

I do think that McCoy has some alcohol problems. Hasn't this been addressed in the past?

Guinastasia, you scared the crap out of me -- but once I saw that our man Sam was still alive, I said a little "thank you" to you for starting the thread. Was it McCoy who had the alcohol problem, or Lenny Briscoe (RIP, Jerry Orbach)? Anyway, he is hotness personified. I get a total Atticus Finch vibe from him. He also played the wise father in Reese Witherspoon's debut, "The Man in the Moon," didn't he?

I think they both had alcohol issues, but Lenny's were so bad he quit drinking. In the earlier days of L&O, Jack kept scotch in his desk. And I remember Jamie making some pointed comments to him about his drinking.
I saw an old movie with a young Sam in it, I don't remember what movie it was, but Sam was a beautiful young man.

I do think that McCoy has some alcohol problems. Hasn't this been addressed in the past? Yep, there have been several inferences indicating that he has a drinking problem. Also, he hasn't lived down his past rep of having affairs with women ADAs, specifically the ones who've worked closely with him. I even love him on the TD Waterhouse commercials.

He did a great Atticus in "I'll Fly Away". I do miss that show.
