I don't think it could ever recoup its budget since there's not enough genuine public interest in the movie outside of the tragedy.

In the Baldwin nuthouse, the boys will be running around screaming, the older daughter will be putting on makeup and talking about boys, the mom will be, “…how you say…” speaking broken Spanish, the little kids will be, “…how you say…” speaking just like her.
There will be the studious kids that hide in their bedrooms from all the crazy, and Alex will make that “What are you gonna do…” shrug face as he exits to go do whatever he does now.
I expect it doesn’t last long because it’s neither compelling nor interesting, the mom and kids will be bad acting, Alex will get bored, and I feel so sorry that a new generation of hellions will end up doing TicToc pranks for a living.
Who would have thought calling your 12 yo daughter a rotten little pig would be the top of your parenting prowess.

Now I'm thinking the reality show could be money for any lawsuits and image rehabilitation after the Rust shooting.

It sounded like it was going to be a direct-to-video release to begin with, personally. And I think that's a big reason this happened. It was a DTV or DTStreaming cheapie, and the people in charge started cutting even more corners. Not enough crew members, being worked too hard, having to work above their pay grade, I think not even decent places to sleep. A lot of productions are like that, and this is not the first bad result.

If evidence was being buried and kept from the defense, then that's just f**ked up. You put the entire series of cases that this prosecutor has ever presented and then make one wonder if she did this in those trials. You just can't do that sort of crap. I don't know if I think Alec was truly to blame, I don't know all the pieces of what was allowed to bring this to trial, but he's entitled to a defense and if that kind of misconduct is happening then it puts the whole system into question.
I started to wonder while listening to the judge if the case could be retried, but as soon as I heard double jeopardy had been applied...Wow. I feel really sorry for this poor woman's family.

Honestly, I was hoping for some sort of conviction for him. Alec was a producer on this movie and certainly behind the scenes footage shows him acting like a second director. With the prosecutorial misconduct, I completely understand the case being thrown out. However, I want some stronger precedence when it comes to these cases. Deaths like this shouldn't happen on productions, EVER.
