This was always the most likely outcome, didn't expect the prosecution to produce some sort of SNL worthy shit show of misconduct, though. And then insisted on taking the stand to (rightly) get torn to pieces by defense and the judge. But yeah, they were caught doing this because Baldwin can afford good lawyers who will find this sort of sketchy stuff. How many cases have led to false convictions because this set of people are routinely doing this and someone couldn't afford a proper defense lawyer with the time and skill to uncover it?
That set seemed like a chaotic nightmare, but the case against Baldwin always seemed flimsy. He was a producer in the way actors are often producers to bring in money and as a vanity title, not because he had a hand in hiring anyone. The judge dismissed that angle as well on these grounds. And as an actor he has to trust the experts on set to not give him a gun that can actually kill someone. Particularly since the blanks seem to look the same as the live ammunition. It's not reasonable to expect for him to know the difference IMO. They went after the armorer and IMO should have gone after the AD harder. But apparently they let the AD take a plea deal because Baldwin was the bigger fish and they wanted to make careers out of a high-profile case. This had misconduct and bad faith written all over it from the start IMO.
