Chaka mad. (What is that whole genius quote from Prince? Something like "Chaka didn't like that. Chaka mad.") Sometime after Nippy covered "I'm Every Woman," Prince, in an interview, was asked about it. Prince reportedly said, "Chaka don't like that, Chaka mad."

"Tell Me Something Good" is one of the sexiest songs ever. Not only is it on my iPod playlist, but I downloaded it from a CD I already owned forever!

Chaka REAL mad! Can someone explain to me how you can shoot someone in the face with and walk? I threw a drink in a chick's face once and got "escorted" out by the police! I don't think they're related to the VP, so what gives? Chaka's one of the GOATs, no doubt, but my sister had to deal with her people and said they were horrible to her, so she can't even imagine how bad Chaka is.

Ain't Nobody is just such a sexy song.

Word on Aint Nobody being a great song. I actually playfully(I swear!) backhanded my friend when she changed the radio station when it came on. Yes, I love that song that much.

Her stuff with Rufus, in the seventies, was even better and sexier than any of her eighties solo hits. Back in the day she was one hott, sexy mama, with wild auburn curly hair/wigs, a coke bottle body, and titties that put Dolly Parton to shame. All of the guys were hot for Chaka back in the day. Her signature/logo was her red lipstick print. She was fabulous.

I'm going down to my favorite secondhand music store to check out some Chaka/Rufus album covers from that time and pick up some of the 70s music you all speak of. I shouldn't go wrong - I already love 80s Chaka. I'm really surprised about this case. Maybe there were some circumstances that were not reported that would have tendered a not guilty. Even then I hope her family woes resolve themselves.

Rags to Rufus and Rufusized were the major 70s albums. The first one is good (Tell Me Something Good, You Got the Love, Ain't Nothing but a Maybe) but the second one is better overall because the music is a better match for Chaka's voice and style IMO.
ETA: Chaka was a little thing back then who wore fur bikini tops and wild pants or a long skirt. She and Rufus always put on a good show and she had an AMAZING voice.
