Whenever I think of Aaliyah (which, honestly, isn't that often), three things come to mind:
1. Missy was pimping that girl for years after her death. I mean, it was like she was stalking her from beyond the grave! Creepity!
2. I really liked her in Romeo Must Die and thought she had a sweet platonic chemistry with Jet Li.
3. There's a song of hers where she spells her name, and I always have to really concentrate to get it right, otherwise I start singing "To the A-I-L-A...Y...oh, crap."

Me too.
Oh yeah! That creeped me out too. I don't think she's stopped though.
Ha ha ha! If I can recall correctly, that was her very first single "Back and Forth."

Definetely agree about her being elevated to saint status because she died.
I really did like her, I knew who she was and listened to her music alot. And her death really really did make me cry. However...I just think she was a human...she had talent, sure. But she wasn't all that great.
If she had lived...I really don't know how she would've turned out. I am sick of people saying she would've been this huge star. She really wasn't until she died.

I wonder if she had lived if Beyonce would be as big as she is now. I wonder if Aaliyah would have eclipsed her?

I hope so. Aaliyah was way better IMO. Much more beautiful, much better personality, voice more pleasant to hear, and let's not even mention dancing.

Yeah they weren't necessarily strong but they were still pleasant. I'd rather listen to Aaliyah's voice than Britney Spears' voice.

I think that Aaliyah just had a real presence about her. She was very young when she started and came across as so mature and composed. I loved her style both vocally and fashion wise.
She is seriously missed in the music community.

Beyonce and Ike & Tina Knowles would have been out to get her, that's for sure. Aaliyah, was thinner than Beyonce. She was lighter AND....all that hair was hers!! Oh, hell no. Bey would have been hating her these days.
