Dude. That whole singing thing was one of the greatest things I have ever seen. It is so painfully bad - the part when she sort of stops and "oomphs" off of the piano is so, so funny That was my favourite part!! Honestly, that is the most fabulous thing I've seen in a while. I can't bear to watch it again but man, it was awesome. lol

The Soup has been showcasing the now-canceled Weekends with Maury and Connie (or Connie and Maury, or whatever the hell that train wreck is called), and it is painful -- not only are the jokes forced and excruciatingly unfunny, but we've also sensed a deep, deep current of hostility between them. Wasn't Maury accused of sleeping with some crew member on the show? Yep. Did you see the part where Connie mentioned Maury's inadequacies? This is paraphrased: Maury: You know all about sexual inadequacies, don't you? Connie: Yeah, well, I married it. He shot her a really nasty look, and Connie pretty much talked over him and ended the show as if nothing had happened.

Ho. Lee. Shiat. That video is just, wow.
Poor old Connie will be checking into rehab in 5... 4... 3...
Edited to add: I will give her credit for being a pretty good-looking 60-year-old.

My local newscaster team played some of that this morning, and I could tell they simply didn't know what to say when it went back to the desk. I had the feeling they like Connie Chung, and were torn between saying "What the hell was she thinking...?" and "Good ol' Connie!" They just kind of "Hmmm'd" at each other and went to the next story without comment.
I can't stand the feeling of being embarrassed for someone. And I've never even had a definite feeling for CC, one way or the other.

I think she's one of those people who thinks she's very funny. But she's not. Those people make me sad.

Was her show shot in front of an audience? Because I think if I witnessed that live my head would explode.

I heard it played on the radio this morning. No way was she sober when she sang that. The part I loved the best is the grunting noise she made when she was trying to get off the piano. Classic!

I thought it was hilarious. I give her loads of credit for not taking herself too seriously. A bit refreshing in the world that gives us self-important Clambo, Gwhiney and their kind.
And the bit with her coming off the piano...priceless.

I agree. Hilarious for a "serious" journalist who gave it all up. I think she meant it to be funny. Well lt, camera directions, so she has a bad voice and can't sing. Made it even better. Yah, sure! Divorce Court must be the next 12 steps.

I thought Mrs. Povich was hilarious, and I thought she was trying to be funny. ALTHOUGH, it feels like the "funny" that comes out of a lifetime of carefully repressed anger/rage/embarassment/shame finally seeping through to the top.
