I think that if a kid has a problem like autism and doesn't get help, then the parent is being neglectful. I can't believe that they would put their crazy over the health of their child. What sane parent would do that? And the fact that they can tell us his condition is caused by carpet cleaners is ridiculous. She's such a moron.

It makes me a little nauseous to think they've hidden their son's illness. I'm with you flamethrower, I feel it's neglectful and they should be held accountable for this.
I think $cientology is a cult and they probably believe their child isn't sick! I just wish CPS would step in on this!

I've always wondered why they NEVER bring their little boy anywhere... it's always the daughter (who, by the way, is beautiful but is being raised a scientologist so we'll have to contend with her statements when she's older and pursuing a movie career).

The last picture I saw of the son was on a golf cart, I believe? I know you can't tell much from random pictures, but he did look a little blank the few times I have seen him. Ugh, poor guy.

Before Jett I never heard of Kawasaki syndrome.

Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I don't think it's as prevalent as they are claiming.

I'm more inclined to think it's autism.

ETA - I just looked it up on WebMD. It's very rare, and affects the heart. Similar in symptoms to many infections and allergic reactions at first, is treated with anti-coagulants and aspirins.

So why is she anti-antibiotics? It sounds to me like the doctor made the correct call with what info he had and the symptoms he was seeing. I don't think an antibiotic can harm someone with a bad heart.

It's totally ridiculous that she keeps spouting off that carpet cleaning is what caused Jett's illness. From everything that I've read, they don't know the cause of Kawasaki Syndrome, and the medical community doesn't really believe the carpet cleaning theory.

It's like saying, "I flushed the toilet, and then I got a cold. Therefore, flushing the toilet must have caused my cold."

Now, I have no idea if they're trying to pass off Jett's autistic behaviors as the after-effects of Kawasaki, but if they are, it's silly. Kawasaki only causes long-term heart problems, and I'm pretty sure none of it could be confused for autism.

Jett may very well have had Kawasaki syndrome, but it's not an ongoing thing -- you have it, it does its damage, and the kid recovers. His mother needs to stop going around trying to make people think it's a chronic illness. I do wonder whether he had such a high fever that it caused mental retardation, though.

Ella is lovely, and in the few pictures of Jett I've seen, he's a beautiful kid, too. I actually don't mind their parents so much, except for the Scientology bullshit -- John Travolta seems like a genuinely nice guy, and his wife is basically harmless when she's not spouting "church" crap. Of all the celebs trapped in that cult, they're the ones I really wish would get out (oh, and Isaac Hayes).
