It's a testament to how much I love William H. Macy that I'm coming out of lurkdown just to say how much I love William H. Macy. That is all.

He's just never bad in anything. I loved him, LOVED HIM, in Mystery Men... in addition to all the Real Acting he's done over the years.
As for his wife, I think she's incredibly talented as well... and I give her a temporary pass on the smugness, because she did have Hit Show + Oscar nomination hit her right around the same time after years of obscurity. If it were me, I'd probably be looking like the Cheshire Cat too. Time will tell.

I lurve William H. Macy. He's on my short list of actors I'll watch in anything. And I agree - he's good in everything.
And I like that he's honest about the fact that he does some movies for the acting challenge, but he also does others (blockbuster-type films) purely for the money. He's just like, "Hey, I've got a mortgage and kids to put through college. Yeah, I totally do some projects just for the money."
As for his wife, I've liked her in the stuff I've seen her in (I don't watch Desperate Housewives), and I think that are adorable together. They seem to be a couple that genuinely enjoys each other's company. Plus I have to love them because "Filliam H. Muffman" is hysterical.

As for the missus' talents, guess that's in the ear of the beholder. Hated 'Sports Night', she bugged on 'Frasier', and I missed 'TransAmerica', and just don't like the woman. The big whiff of smugness and the overbearing shrillness? Makes my slappin' hand itch. Of course, the horse-facedness ain't her fault, but.... I think Macy is a very good actor. Everything I've seen him, he has been exceptional. But do I, like his wife, think he's God's gift to the world? No. I agree with buckdutter that she's obnoxious about him. Every single interview I've seen with her, she drones on about the wonderfulness of William H. Macy. I'm all for loving one's spouse, but she pushes it to the point of puking. Example: I read that Marcia Cross put a jar out on the set, requesting suggestions for married life. Felicity's suggestion was Marry William H. Macy. Oh, just gag me.

It just sounds like she's in love with her husband. Has she said any other stuff. Was it because she soumded like she was trying to get milage out of the fact she's married to him? Did she famewhore?

I love both of them and think they are equally talented. Felicity doesn't strike me as smug in the slightest. She was actually planning on quitting acting and becoming a hairdresser because she couldn't get any work in L.A. She seems truly over-whelmed by her recent awards/nominations.

Love his character (until his unfortunate ending...) in Boogie Nights. "My WIFE is out in the DRIVEWAY with an ass in her cock!!!"

Oh lordy, I watched the (possibly made for tv?) movie where he played the door to door salesman, Bill ..something. I have the memory of a goldfish. But he was just brilliant, heartbreaking and warm and just a great portrayal of a disabled man. It really blew my socks off. I have a feeling its called Door to Door, actually.

It is called "Door to Door - about Bill Porter, a man with cerebral palsy who managed to become a successful door to door salesman (actually walking door to door), despite his disability. The dude is in his 70s and he still sells products over the phone and on the web (I know this because Bill Porter lives in my town).
And WHM did do a fantastic job - he also co-wrote the movie - and it was great when that movie first came out because he did a lot of promotion around here (due to the local interest).
He was also fabulous as a mute man in "The Wool Cap."
