Since the old William H. Macy thread was gone, I'm starting another one. He's very talented (Fargo, Boogie Nights, Pleasantville, ER and Sports Night, among many other things,) like his wife, Emmy winner/Oscar nominee Felicity Huffmann-and unlike a certain one of her skanky co-stars, as he recently snarked about, in no uncertain terms, which earns him a Lifetime Free Pass from me.
Talk about William H. Macy here.

Adore him so much. I loved last year at the BAFTAs, he came on to present and the introduction from Stephen Fry said something along the lines of nobody knows what the H stands for. He walks up to the mic, totally straight faced and says 'the H stands for Huffman'.

Vehicular homicide while under the influence? Dead girl? Live boy? Caught wearing head-to-toe baby sealskin as he's sneaking out of a Wayans Brother's movie? Anyhow, I really, really like him. His wife? Whole 'nother matter. What has this woman done, or what does she have (besides a really talented husband) to be so damn self-satisfied and smug about? Crappy television shows do not count.

You know--he could do all of those things, and I'd probably still love him. He's just awesome. I like that he doesn't seem to have an attitude about where his projects are--if the script is good enough he'll give it a go, whether its a major motion picture or on television. His wife has done some pretty good work as well--I hate "Desperate Housewives" but check out "Sports Night" or "Transamerica". I thought she was good in both. But I could see how one would call her smug.

A really huge amount of talent herself?
Displayed in Transamerica (she's heartbreaking, yo), Sports night and the fact she pulls off the storylines they give her on the crappy show.
And, having been part of a troupe of Mamet's probably helps.

And Frasier, she was great on Frasier. Plus together they make up the greatest celeb couple nickname of all time, Filliam H Muffman.

He put the smackdown on Lindsay Lohan. Total word on the lifetime pass just for that! Thanks for the link! Noooo. If you give lifetime passes for simply saying she needs a kick in the ass, where's the motivation to actually do the kicking? As for the missus' talents, guess that's in the ear of the beholder. Hated 'Sports Night', she bugged on 'Frasier', and I missed 'TransAmerica', and just don't like the woman. The big whiff of smugness and the overbearing shrillness? Makes my slappin' hand itch. Of course, the horse-facedness ain't her fault, but....
