Saw The Prestige last night and I was not ready for the Bowie! I didn't know he was in it.
He was very charismatic and mysterious as Tesla.
I could have sworn created a thread for this brilliant man several months ago, but can't find it. Deleted?

David Bowie is way older than my Dad, and I still find him unbelievably attractive and sexy. He's one of my all-time favorite artists...absolute genius. He and Iman are such a super-couple. And more than that, he seems to be a very genial, intelligent and nice person.

He's amazing. I saw him play with Nine Inch Nails -- geez, it must be ten years ago now -- and they had a little segment where NIN played Bowie songs and Bowie played a couple of NIN songs. His version of "Hurt" remains the definitive one for me, Johnny Cash notwithstanding -- he made it sound like something from "Labyrinth", and I mean that in the best possible way.
And speaking of "Labyrinth", he made me feel kinda funny when I saw it the first time, even though I was all of eight. The power of Bowie is mighty indeed.

I've been mesmerized by him ever since I saw Labyrinth when I was 8. It's not that I think he's attractive, because I don't, but there's still something sbout him where I can't look away whenever he's on screen.

I loved it when he called out MTV for not playing any black artists back in the early 1980s. Also, his Goblin King cracks me up with the tight pants and the hair metal wig! So awesome.

My sister spotted him and Iman in NYC a couple of years ago. They were strolling down the sidewalk hand in hand, then went into a restaurant. Sis said that Bowie was beaming at his wife and stroking her hand very gently, looking totally in love. Iman was looking happy, too. There's something about those two clotheshorses that just gives me a good feeling. And yes, Sis says they're incredibly pretty and stylish.
Loved him in "The Prestige". He's a little heavier in it than I remember. Was this for the movie or is he finally showing his age?

The Amazing David Bowie!!! Love that man!
I was into his music since I could remember. Caught his Sound and Vision tour in 1990 in Jacksonville. He was just pure magic! Whenever I travel I take something by him with me. Thankfully I now have a Nano.
Now Labyrinth was also a favorite in my house for me and my younger sibblings (not to mention the first DVD I bought).
I could sit here and gush all day, but will not bore you and let the next person do so.....

Ditto! ;D Has anyone seen the vidoe for "Hearts Filthy Lesson"? It's so messed up and freaky. I guess he wanted to explore the theme of "art death" that he talks about in the liner notes of Outside. It's full of images of disturbing, gory objects and mutilations that are made into art. He looks absolutely *unhinged* in it, but I find it incredibly hot. Edited to sound more intelligent and less like a hyperventilating fangirl.

I get paranoid when I see a name who hasn't shown up on the first page in some time.
I knew about his heart surgery and I thought the worst.
I knew he was in The Prestige. I almost didn't recognize him.
