He definitely got the "Most Applause Award" at the SAG Awards tonight.

Class and decency to the end. I just wish the $$ details were left out (and I suspect they were under-reported) only because that's very personal and he fiercely protected his family's privacy. I expect that either The Smoking Gun or TMZ will have a full copy of it up fairly soon. Wills filed in NYC seem to be particularly easy for the public to access. I remember seeing JFK Jr's will too.

Lady Gaga to pay tribute to Bowie at the GrammysI know he influenced multiple generations of musicians but if the producers only wanted one artist on the stage, I wish they would have invited someone like Iggy Pop, Eno or even Trent Reznor...you know, people who actually knew Bowie and worked with him. I truly hope she makes me eat my words, and I will readily do so if she does, but this just feels too featherweight for someone of such importance over the last half century of music. Even Joe Strummer got a send-off from Springsteen, Elvis Costello and Dave Grohl. I expected Bowie's contemporaries, at the very least. He was already 40 years old when Gaga was born.

I agree. It sounds like laziness to me. The article I read was like, "well she was performing anyway, so now she'll do a Bowie tribute because she's so influenced by him!"

I had the same thought. Surely some of his contemporaries/friends - the already mentioned Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger - would be more than happy to take part in a tribute to their friend.

Bowie deserves better than Gaga, no matter how talented she may be.

Bowie deserves better than Gaga, no matter how talented she may be. I think she's complete crap, so I agree he deserves better.

Yeah, I'm disappointed. It sounds like a really lazy and profit-oriented move to me.

I hope she doesn't do something weird, like Ziggy Stardust drag.

Whatever she does, it won't be as good as Annie Lennox at the Freddie Mercury Tribute show.
