I always thought he was painfully unfunny as an actor so it's not like this breaks my heart. He hit the jackpot by doing his stupid shtick on a famous show and desrves to go into obscurity.

What a freak. Kramer was such a dull character anyway. I always sort of hated MR for winning Emmys while Jason Alexander never did.

Not to mention that Michael's been doing standup for 15 years. He may not have been up in awhile, but he's no standup novice.

I happen to know a lot of standups, who in turn know a lot of other standups, and there's more bitter bastards than there are well adjusted nice guys. I've said before that I think a lot of good comedy comes out of anger, and I'm sure I could explain why that is if I cared to think about it enough. My favorite thing about comics is how seriously they take other people's comedy. I've watched a George Carlin special with a room full of comics and I'm the only one laughing out loud. The rest of them let the jokes land then whisper admiringly "Oh, man, is he funny." It's like a religion to them - they treat good humor, good jokes, a good bit, with real reverence. Just my experience.

Weird factoid - 60% of all comedians are left handed. At dinner one night with about ten comics we took a vote. All of them lefties.
